SOURCE: heater matrix leaking
You'll probably have to remove the old leaking heater core from under the dash.A chiltons or haynes shop manual would be very helpful in telling you the actual step by step proceedure for removing the old core and installing the new one.I've replaced several heater "cores' and it involves a good bit of body contortion to get you head under the dash to see what your dealing with, but I,m confident that you can get the job done.Don't skip any steps here cause that way leads to frustration.Be sure to have a small bucket or tuperware container handy to catch any excess antifreeze before it soaks you carpet.

You need to buy a repair manual first. You must have the feon removed, because you must disconnect the AC lines from the evaporator, It took me about 4 hours. The screws are under the dash at each end plus in the middle there is a support brace bracket.

i take youve changed the hand brake shoes in the disc as you say the cable, have you adjusted the shoes through the wheel stud hole.

if you mean the heater matrix its in a box behind the dash. you have to completely remove the dashboard then the box and then open up the heater box to get to the matrix.
