This is likely the failure of the nylon gear wheel or motor within the dash which operates the interior vents.

When I turn off engine, why do I hear a clicking sound from under dash?

HI THE CLICKING SOUND IS PROBABLY A HEATER/AC ACTUATOR WITH A STRIPPED GEAR , WHEN THIS HAPPENS TRY TO MOVE THE HEATER CONTROL KNOB FOR THE MODES (DEFROST/FLOOR/VENTS) SEE IF NOISE CHANGES . IF IT DOSE THEN THE ISSUE IS WITH A ACTUATOR UNDER THE DASH

2000 grand caravan blow cold on floor vent but not dash vents

This sounds a lot like a door actuator it is locate behind the radio part od the dash when you switch the vents like to the floor upper dash do you hear a clicking sound? put your ear to the middle of the dash where the switch to the heat / cool is and listen for the clicking sound when you change the vents direction. If you do it's the vent actuator you will have to remove the face part of the vent and it's in behind that it is usually a white plastic box it may be black but most are white. The cost is about 90 to 120 Canadian dollars.
Hope this helps good luck.

Blower VENT DOOR NOT WORKING RIGHT ON 2009 SEBRING

Either something blocking or binding the actuator or actuator or door failure or calibration,if you hear a clicking noise when changing to vent mode under dash area this indicates the actuator internally slipping and will need to be replaced

Have 2003 Explorer that when turning on heater get a tapping or flapping noise

that noise you are hearing is the blend door motor. A blend door motor switches from heat to a/c and what vent to blow it out of. it is located on the heater box under the dash

Heater clicking noise in gmc envoy

Do you hear a clicking noise when you turn your truck on? Its probably the actuator. While the defroster was on I removed the fuse locted under the rear driver side seat. I think its 36B. It stopped the clicking noise and my air vents work well now.

Clicking noise from dash near a/c controls and radio area. possibly fan assembly fault

I doubt if you have a fan problem. More than likely you have a bad actutor motor. There are 2 small electric actuator motors under the dash. The temperture door actuator moves the air temperature door, which controls the temperature of the air coming from either the a/c or heater vents. The mode actuator (which is probably the one you hear clicking) controls the mode of operation, or more simply, which vents the air will be coming out of. When the internal gears of the mode actuator fail and start slipping, they make a loud repetative "clicking" sound, which is what you are hearing. Another symptom that may or may not accompany this situation is a longer than usual wait time for your mode selection to occur. So to sum up, a loud repetative clicking sound from the center of the dashboard possibly accompanied by a longer than usual wait time for your ac,heat or defrost mode to occur, usually indicates a failing mode door actuator.

My AC and heat will only blow out of my defrost vent and will not switch to vent on my 2000 GMC Sierra also when on outside air whin and tick under dashboard on passenger side

Check the actuator motor under the dash, you may not be able to reach it,there is one under the dash on the bottom of the blower box, this is not the one, this one is the temp door actuator, you need to find the directional door actuator, follow the clicking noise, this is the one that needs attention, the door is stuck,or the actuator motor is bad.If this was at all helpful, please rate.

Rhythmic noise on passenger side of dash.

It sounds like you have an hvac actuator problem. It could be the recirculate actuator either way the system should be scanned and after replacement it has to be calibrated.
