SOURCE: changing speedo cable
Note: On later models an electronic transducer providers road speed signals to the speedometer and engine management system and speedometer drive cable is not fitted.
1, Working in the engine compartment, pull the cable securing pin from the gearbox/transmission housing. then release the end of the cable from the gearbox.
2, Pull the speedometer cable sharply to release the cable ball from the locating grommet in the bulkhead.
3, Pull the cable through the bulkhead grommet into the engine compartment, and withdraw it from the car.
4, REFITTING, is reversal of the removal, but coat the cable ball with some soapy water( eg washing up liquid) to aid refitting, and ensure that itis correctly located on the bulkhead grommet.
I hope this as helped!!
