Key is stuck in ignition, wont turn all the way back to remove it...if it helps, the steering wheel wont lock either

If the steering wheel wont lock either okay if its automatic make sure it goes in park. If automatic and it doesnt go in park the safety release will think you are in gear and you wont be able to take it out. Now for manual put the e brake on push the key all the while tun to the of position.I hope this help

Remote control has stopped working. Have tried changing the battery of the remote control but that did not work.

Does the red light on the remote light up when you push any of the button
if no, replace remote
if yes, then try repograming the remote to the car again.
-Have remotes' ready. if you have two then fob#1 and fob#2 (doesn't matter which one is #1 or #2)
-each step has to be done within 5 sec or it will not work, but don't do it super fast.
1.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
2.turn key off
3.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
4.turn key off
5.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
6turn key off
7.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 twice (if you only have one fob, then stop here and go to step 8)and push the "lock button" on fob#2 twice.
8.turn key off and remove key from ignition.
if you did it right, remotes' should work again.
good luck

I dont have the key to turn the switch to acc.

I've worked on a lot of cars but I have never had to change the ignition lock cylinder on a 4runner. Does it have a cylinder that has to be in the run position and then push a release button to remove the cylinder? A lot of cars are set up this way. If so the way I do it when I have no key or the key doesn't work is first get a new cylinder because the old won't be usable when you get done. Get a big flat blade screwdriver and a hammer. Hammer the screwdriver into the key slot tight. Grab the shaft of the screwdriver with a pair of vice grips. Force the lock cylinder to the run position. Push in on the release button and remove it. When the cylinder breaks it might break into more than one piece. If so keep hammering in the screwdriver and turning until all the pieces are removed
