Anyone know what type of hub puller works best for this? I am trying to fix a broken timing chain and just got to the point where I realised I can not remove the timing cover without pulling the hub off the end of the crankshaft

You are not even close to understanding what I asked. I am already way past this issue. I never said anything about the crank pulley, I asked about a hub. Typical people on the internet giving advice when they themself have no clue..

I went out to Harbor frieght and bought a standard 46pc pulley set and used parts of my powersteering pulley setup also so as to rod the pulley inside the threaded hole of the crank and not interfere with the hub removal. There has to be a specific tool used for this but I improvised and jerryrigged something to work.

Reynaldo, do you even know what a 1985 Cadillac crankshaft hub looks like? apparently not by your answer. You should not give advice when you obviously do not know what your are answering.

This is a difficult situation, without the crank pulley remover you are in for a ordeal,is there any auto shop or parts store that can rent you one out?Other than that you can try a punch driver and a hammer and see if you can work its way out, but mind you need to be real careful you dont damage the crank pulley.

I have a 1985 cadillac bearitts. i wanna change the oil pan casket. how do i do it

This is going to be a big job! The frame parts are going to be in the way of removing the oil pan. If you really want to try and tackle this by yourself, get a service manual from an auto parts store and they will provide instructions. Sometimes you can raise the engine sufficiently to get the pan to clear the crankshaft without pulling the engine but it is always dangerous to do so.

Best of luck, Jim

I need instructions

If the rotors are not all in one with the hub, it is simple. Remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper, use a soft mallet to loosen the rotor and remove, then replace the rotor, pads and spray with cleaner to remove finger prints and grease and then replace the wheel.

Removeing front hub 1985 chevy blazer 4x4

You will need a hub socket, once you pull the cap off and remove the four wheel drive locker. the nut is deep inside the spindle. make sure you keep track of how the hub parts come out. you have one washer with many small holes in it that has to match up with a dowel pin inside, this is very critical! you can get a hub socket at a local parts store.
