Ok I am wondering if my motor in my 91 gmc 5.7 l b8 is a vortec or a 350 it has throttle body carb and not sure thought if I could interchange it with an older 350 ..

Here, is what I think you are asking. The TBI intake from a 91 will fit the same size engine from 88 to 95. The Vortec didn't come out till 96 I believe. So if your 91 is the original engine then it is not a Vortec motor. If you want to swap your 5.7 with another 5.7 (5.7 = 350) Then the 88-95 should work, Just double check your sensors and locations as the plugs may be different and or in different locations. I know my 88 GMC and my 94 chevy (both K1500's) were a little different. Hope this helps.

1998 GMC Jimmy will only go 30 mph and the rpms are reving high what is wrong

If you have an automatic trans, sounds like it is slipping, Try changing the trans filter and fluid, but your trans may have to be rebuilt. Only other thing could be brakes dragging/stuck.

How do you adjust the shift cable on a 1995 gmc jimmy, wont go into reverse or park.

On the 1995 Jimmy, the shift cable can come loose on the mount on the side of the transmission where the cable meets the trans. When it slips, the alignment goes off and causes the driver to not be able to put the trans into park. If you take a long stick you can push the shift arm on the trans to the park position and your trans will go into park.....what you (and I) really need to know is how to take the shift cable mount apart and reset it.

Do chevy 350s already have a cluch pilot bearing in them even if its an automatic transmition

They put pilot bearing in at the factory so the motors can have any trany instaled in production and not need to program one in.

Can I put a 1991 Chevy Blazer LT Automatic Transmission into a 1993 GMC Jimmy that had a automatic Transmission in it as well-- Please help. ???????

well you have to do some research but I believe 1992 was the changeover from non electronic to electronic controlled trans. the best way I have found to figure this out for vehicle to vehicle interchange is to call a salvage yard and the are very good at this because the have to know to sell parts effectively. Hope this helps.

What motor from Gmc can fit and run in a 97 Jimmy ?

I cannot tell you this but I can point out a source. You will need to know if the vehicle is 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. You will also need to know if you want to replace the transmission. Is it a standard or automatic. Specific make model of the trans will help. Get these answers. If you need help with that, get your VIN and call the dealer. They can tell you about the car. They can also tell you what engines were available for your vehicle when it was new. Take this info to a junk yard and they will be able to tell you what you are looking for.

Change fluid on 2005 GMC Jimmy and now revving

did you change the filter too? If so is the new filter EXACTLY like the old one? Are you sure the trans is full of fluid? Sounds like a wrong filter or low fluid. Also is there a dent in the trans pan that could be hindering the fluid flow into the filter? If this is the case replace the pan.
