Battery cable location

I took off the battery bracket and now i'm putting it all back together...... but the negative battery cable seems to be a little tight i was wondering if you could send me a pic of the bracket (minus the battery) so i can see exactly how the cable is ran threw there (over, or under the bracket, threw a hole, or down the yellow brick road?) thank you for your help.

Look at your old battery if you still have it... the posts (+,-) could be revered ie. the wrong battery. Or, you may be able to spin it around. If this the correct battery and in correctly. Put the battery in the tray and connect the cables, then put the hold down bracket last.
Did you take the ground away from the body or block of the car? If so, you may be trying to reconnect it to a different place.

good luck

How to change a bettery on a 2002 ford focus

Look at your old battery and make note of the brackets installation and the terminal (positive and negative ) locations. Remove the positive cable, then the negative cable where they attach to the battery poles. POSITIVE cables are normally RED.....NEGATIVE cables are normally BLACK. Remove the battery hold down bracket making sure you do not place anything metal across the two battery poles. Install the new battery into the battery tray, attach the hold down brackets, the attach the negative cable end then the positive end. BE VERY CAREFUL and DO NOT GET BATTERY ACID on you or SHORT ACROSS the battery poles with any metalic object. If you have not done this before and are buying a new battery from an auto center....they will...most times.....install the battery for you free of charge

How do you disconnect battery

Open the trunk. Lift the carpet and the spare tire/battery cover. Loosen the nut and disconnect the NEGATIVE (BLACK) battery cable. If you are removing the battery, you will have to also remove the positive cable and remove the battery hold-down bracket to get the battery out. But ALWAYS disconnect the NEGATIVE cable FIRST and when you put it back together, connect the negative cable LAST.
