SOURCE: what is P1111 AND P1647 on jaguar x-type

Hello! Code P1111 is pointing at a defective air temperature sensor.

Jaguar does not have a code P1647. However if the code was in the P164x area it is an effect not a cause; The air temp. sensor controls fuel flow by sensing a differential in temperature; This device is called a MAP. A small black component with two mounting bolt holes with an electrical connector. It cost around $80 if purchased at an auto parts store. Follow back from your air filter towards the intake (need to remove plastic engine cover) to locate the MAP.

Code P1347 can be set for either a short to ground, short to power, high resistance or open circuit on Oxygen Sensor for bank 2, (HO2S21). Bank 2 is on your right when standing at the front of the engine facing the crank, and this sensor is the first in line; before the converters.
Code p1111
- Intake Air temperature (IAI) intermittent high voltage-low temperature condition.
Probable Cause:
1. Open circuit to IAI-Check connector
2. Failed IAI
3. Open Circuit Condition

Hope this helps

While running, applying more of petrol, RPM is raising but power not increasing means gear is not changing accordingly. What is fault code P1647? TQ

THE CODE IS SAYING CHECK THE CONSTANT CIRCUIT OF THE LEFT-HAND BANK HO2S FOR OPEN CIRCUIT OR SHORT IN THE SYSTEM. WHICH CAN LEAD TO REPLACING THE PCM IF ALL RESISTANCE TESTS COME BACK GOOD

THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A PROFESSIONAL NEEDS TO TEST THAT HAS EXPERIENCE CHASING SYSTEM SHORTS.

PO113 relates to the Intake Air Temperature, I'm not sure P1647 relates to! I'll try and find it out for you.

Trouble code p1647

hi, i work as a mechanic and have just had this code (p1647)on an 02 2.5 ltr x type. got the definition for 02 banks as well. as there are 2 sensors on each bank i took a look at the live data and it showed a slugish response on sensor two(after the cat). unplugging the sensor in the front cat brought up another code for bank two sensor two so this is obviously the right sensor. changed sensor and sent the car out, hope this helps, jon.
