Assuming you mean key, is it OEM Ford or aftermarket? Do you know the brand if aftermarket? Do you know the lock number? Replacement keys can be ordered from the aftermarket manufacture. Ford's locks are make by an aftermarket manufacture, but the might use different part numbers. If OEM, bring it to the dealer for match up if possible.

Can you tell me the tappet settings for a ford escort rs 2000 1979

Adjust with engine cold.
Standard camshaft:
Inlet : 0.2mm (0.008")
Exhaust 0.25mm (0.010")
Loosen bottom lock-nut. Adjust with top nut. Fasten locknut and check. The clearance will be slightly too tight. Loosen bottom again, adjust and re-tighten till you get it right.

The fuel filter is located on the drivers side of the firewall underneath the brake master cylinder. It is easiest to get to it from underneath the car.

1998 ford escort...serpetine belt came it back on and want to know how to tighten it up please help

Yes I too am confused too ? the belts don´t just come off.!

Normally the either snap, or loose teeth, or the water pump bearings go.

Sounds like your timing belt tensioner pulley may be at fault, it is adjustable, and the locking bolts/nuts may have come loose.?

Hope this is of help.

Good Luck !
