Hi ou answered a question on this site regarding a 2001 chevy blazer with a security light and shut off issue i have a similar problem where my truck will turnover and then die like the fuel pump shuts off whereas the security light in the message center flashes you, you answered the other person by cutting the yellow wire and adding a resistor between the black wire and yellow wire can i have the step by step directions
To bypass the passlock system you will need to use a multimeter and find the resistance of the chip in the key. Just put one probe lead on each side of the key and measure the resistance. Once you have this reading you will need to chain together resistors to match this reading. Once you have made a resistor you will look at the base of the column for the small orange and white wires in a 2 pin connector. I always snip these on the column side of the connector so if it ever needs to go back to a factory setup there are no cut wires on the vehicle side of the plug to fix. You will snip these wires and install the resistor between them.

You will have to have the dealer reset the security light to restart vehicle.Check all engine and chassie grounds because this is where the lighting would exit the vehicle.It sounds like a ground burnt through.

take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.

Start off by taking a spark plug out when it shuts down. If it is dry and a light tannish color, then you have a gas problem. If it is wet and dark colored, then you have a spark problem. Let me know what you find out.
