Timing chain

It appears that you got it right but to be sure the check is on the timing chain there are 3 black links If you have it right then the black links will line up with the marks. If not then re adjust the gear that is not correct.- ensure that you have the ignition timing right as you may be 180 degrees out

I blew the timing chain tentioner, do you know if, its all chewed up and wont start, do you know if this is a interferance motor? thanks.

What you will need to do is replace the chain. Make sure the timming marks are set right and start it. If you hear a knock or tapping you might have messed it up. Saturns have a 0 tolerance motor but some times they fire off with no problem. If ou were not racing it, it should be fine. It depends on how you drive.

You must have your distributor out one tooth. Or else the chain is out one tooth. When you aim a timing light at the mark, if the mark is jumping around, your chain is wrong.
If neither of those, then check your firing order, and make sure all the plug wires are on firmly, and are not damaged.

yes you must remove the timing chain cover, timing chain, timing chain case, and exhaust manifold, takes about 6 hrs to change, I know I got the same motor and car, good luck and have fun, also you will need to buy a gasket set for the timing chain

Well I just looked up the specs for you for the 2.7 ltr. I hope this is what you want.
Cam Caps 105 in.lbs.
Cam Sprocket 250 in.lbs.
Crank Dampener 125 ft.lbs.
Cylinder Head Cover 105 in.lbs.
Here is an illustration of the timing chain set up. Be aware these marks are lined up with the three sets of plated links on the chain. You should easily identify them if you have a new chain. You may have to clean an old chain to see them.
Good luck with this and let me know how it goes for you.
