SOURCE: 96 firebird is having problems,

Have you ran a diagnotic check to see what codes are coming up?
Throwing parts at the problem will get expensive. It will also ruin other parts (Like your catalytic converter), when your engine is misfiring and not running properly. Your vehicle is an OBDII system, fix the problems in the order they appear (then clear, run and recheck)...meaning, one problem can cause another and so on. Fixing one problem may correct the other ones too.
You may get lucky with the shotgun approach, but usually not.
Run a diagnostic test, at least you'll know where to start looking for the problem.

Before you get carried away changing anything else, run injector cleaner through your tank of gas. I have patiently solved my idle problems several times like that. Consider our injectors are 10 years old now. Clean or change PCV as well. Dale

could have a dirty fuel injector, ad some cleaner to a half tank of fuel, you could have water in the tank and many other things. Are you getting any service lights? Does it run rough all the time or only on rainy days? p0300 and p0304 are both misfire codes, i would try cleaning the fuel injectors first.

You can test yourself to see if you have a bad spark wire. Get a spray bottle of water (like an old windex bottle). At night, turn on the vehicle and spray the mist of water onto the spark plugs. It may crackle and you may see a spark. If you do then your plug wires may be at fault and should be replaced. You won't get shocked with a mist of sprayed water in these low amounts.

Timing off. Back fire. trouble starting on rainy days. Runs sluggish. Hesitation.

New plug wires, sometimes when they get old they start to arc out and just make your car run terrible, especially on rainy days.
