I would start with install new spark plugs and spark plug wires and a distributor cap and rotor and also run a fault code test on the electonics. To do the fault code test go here and read how.

SOURCE: Loss of power/Engine Sputters going up hill

Check our air filter. Nine times out of ten it is something very minor .If you have not changed your air filter in a while, this could cause the loss of power going uphill. On flat ground the vehicle does not have to work as hard as uphill. If your air filter is dirty, this will hamper the carb from breathing properly, thus no power.

Sounds like a head gasket leaking water in from the cooling system. Does it run OK? Any water in the oil on the dipstick and a mayonnaise type film on the oil filler cap?

You need to perform an OBDII diagnostic test and look at the stored faults. Sounds like a temp sensor or Mass Airflow Sensor. Also dirty air filter needs to be changed every 40,000 miles. be sure to delete stored faults and recheck OBDII periodically for new faults.

Hard to start sputters when starting smooths out runs fine?

check the engine coolant temp sensor under the distibutor. they can go bad and cause longer starting times and rough running until the car warms up.

Check all your fuses make sure their good. Your fuel filter should be changed once a year. Or in worst case it might be your fuel pump. If it was a rough road it might have set off your emergency fuel shut off system. Check your owners manuel to find the lacation and reset button.

Loosing power at cruising speed

Hi. I have two Dynasty LE cars, (a 91 and a 93). Both have the 3.3 litre. The 1991 had almost the same problem as yours except it would only do it once the engine warmed up, (similar to your freeway issue, given distance and time for the engine to warm up to operating temp.) I had it in about three shops before the dealer found an intermittent fault with the cam and crank sensors. I replaced them and now it runs just fine. I hope this helps.
