Engine code po442

I doubt code 442 would affect the performance of the engine. Code 442 is for a small leak in the EVAP system. The computer vents the gas tank to the vapor canister when the engine is running. The computer has detected a small leak in the venting system, usually a faulty gas cap or leaking vent hose.

Error codes p0442 & P0455

Those are both Evaporative Emission Control System related.
442 is a small leak has been detected.
455 is a bigger leak has been detected.
Check all your connections, (electrical & vacuum lines) as well as check for any cracked, loose vacuum hoses in the system, as well as clean "O" ring on your gas cap well and threads in filler pipe & make sure gas cap is tight. Do the gas cap first & see if codes dissappear, but it may take a new gas cap. These codes commonly appear shortly after getting gas, due to cap not back on tight.

I'm getting an 442 error code which says it's a evap leak

Make sure the gas cap is tight and if it still stays on and has a code it can be the purge canister valve.

Error codes 442 and 456 on 2003 Chrysler Town and Country

Could be the gas cap.  Do you fill the tank with the engine running?
Otherwise, check the hoses near the Evap canister.  I have 2003 T&C and had the small leak and large leak codes.  I looked at the evap cansiter and the hose coming from the fuel tank vapor line had a huge crack in it, to the point it had fallen off the evap caniser.  I trimmed the end of the hose and reconnected and voila, no codes.
The evap canister is on the driver's side of the van, underneath, slightly behind the drivers seat.
BTW, to clear the codes without an OBDII reader, remove the negative cable for 5-10 minutes (15 to be safe).  The computer resets and clears the codes, except for one that it sets saying loss of power to the memory.
