Will it fire if you spray carb cleaner in the air intake ? We have to determine if its a fuel problem or ignition. If you are one of those people who allow the fuel to get so low the light comes on you likely burnt out the fuel pump they cannot take that kind of abuse more than maybe twice in their lifetime. Hit the bottom of the fuel tank and see if the pump Wakes up have the fuel pressure checked it musy be at least 65 PSI as soon as you turn on the ignition.

SOURCE: I have a 1996 blazer 4.3 v-6 that has a bad motor.

Any GM vehicle (truck/van/SUV) from 1996 to 2002 will interchange. There were two versions, the LF5 and LF6.

L35 and LF6 SCPI
Major design changes to the 4.3L V6 for the 1996 model year. Like other small block Chevrolet V8s, the 4.3L engine received redesigned heads which had improved airflow and combustion efficiency. These heads are referred to as Vortec heads. Furthermore the 4.3L was upgraded to receive sequential port fuel injection. The fuel system uses six centrally mounted injectors firing into six nylon hoses with poppet valves leading to each intake port. This system was call SCPI (Sequential Central Port Injection). This 4.3L used a two piece manifold, with the upper half manufactured from a composite plastic and the lower half manufactured from cast aluminum.
The engine block was revised with structural reinforcing ribs up front eliminating the two freeze plugs (on the front and back) along with an alloy oil pan (for the S10, Blazer, and Jimmy).
This engine came in two versions, the LF6 rated at 175 hp (130 kW) - 180 hp (130 kW), and the L35 rated at 180 - 200 hp (150 kW). Only the S-series pick-ups used the LF6, while the fullsize trucks, vans and Blazer and Jimmy used the L35 version. The L35 was optional on the S-Series trucks.

I would lean towards the pick up pump not delivering the fuel .

Were is my switch at on a 1994 Nissan pickup for the fuel shut off at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Todd

There is no switch, per se. There is a relay under the hood, the diagram looks likes it's along the right fender well in a row of relays (for the V6 engine). Pulling this relay out should stop the pump from working. There may also be a fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse panel. The Haynes manual I have covers 1980 - 1996, so is not necessarily accurate for later model years.

For other years, they can interchangeable, as Transport 1990-1995.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Truck idles, but stalls when given gas

Sounds like it may be a fuelpump, the best way to know for sure is with a fuel gauge,as far as interchangeable pumps it depends on the motor size, and tank size, the 1995 1996 are interchangeable depending if its a returnless fuel system, as you go up it years there are diffrent fuel modules and diffrent tank sizes,

Fule pump

I bet you frequently run the truck very low on fuel if so you killed the fuel pump when you replace this pump its a good idea to use only a genuine AC DELCO FACTORY pump because the vortec engine needs a MININUM of 60 PSI fuel pressure to start
