SOURCE: how to change oil transmission isuzu rodeo 2003

There are two drain plugs on the bottom of the pan. remove the lower one to drain the trans fluid. To refill, use a pump and pump the fluid into the upper drain plug until it seeps out and re-install the plug, similar to refilling a manual trans.
Once this is done, Start the vehicle and run it for about 3 minutes, shifting through all gears (do not drive vehicle Remove the upper drain plug and let any excess fluid drain out. Done. This is as per Mitchell OnDemand.

SOURCE: 1995 isuzu Rodeo engine noise

valve guides worn and tappet adjustment required, can check tappet adjustment first to see slightly better before removing heads and getting valve guides repaired/replaced on heads common problem
if raise revs to 1500-2000rpm and hold does clatter come and go come and go (valve guides) if there all the time tappet clearance issue
if there only under load (1st rev up) for a couple of times then stops possible big end bearing
all these are common for this engine

SOURCE: I have a 95 Isuzu rodeo. The engine makes a loud,

ATTENTION!! Do not run the engine if you do not want to have to buy an engine!! I just solved this problem with my own 95 Rodeo the problem you are having is common on 95 rodeo with 3.2 L engine. Failure of the hydralic timing belt tensioner will allow the tensioner pulley to knock against the top of the tensioner unit ( inside timing cover lower left side of crank pulley little cylinder looking part ) held in by 2 bolts when you take it off if you can depress the button its bad . Dealer has part for $110.00, so go to auto zone but they dont have it listed for 95 rodeo have them look up timing belt tensioner for 95 honda passport $76.95 takes 2 days VDO (Vendor Order only) not a very hard job have fun dont forget to change the timing belt and water pump for good measure after the complete job is done you should not have to worry about it for another 70,000 miles.have a good day

I switch on the ignition, but there is no crank, instead there is a loud piercing sound. Does the starter need rreplacing?

Sounds like the gears on the end of the starter is stripped or the gears on the fly wheel on the engine could have some teeth missing. Probably a bad starter.

What causes a squeaky sound from the engine of an 2000 Isuzu rodeo when engine is running?

it could be one of the belts. if you put a little wax or brake fluid on the belt in a couple of places and the squeak goes away then you either have a loose belt/s or the belts/s need replacing. if no change it could be the timing belt making the noise.

I'm having transmission problems on my 2002 Isuzu rodeo first gear is really slow but as soon as it gets to second and up its ok.

If that is an automatic & if the fluid has not been
changed every 3 years since it was new, then it's
done,pull it & rebuild it

Sounds like it is slipping in first gear, the fluid should
smell bad as well

I have a 98 Isuzu Rodeo, I was crusing along and all the sudden it was like some one turned the key off. Now It turns over but will not start. Help me Please. Pamela McKinnon

Ms/Mrs Mckinnon I'd love to help but you dont mention which engine you have. However, on gas engines such sudden failure could be attributed to fuel pump failure. On the diesels I've found that the fuel cut-off solenoid is the first place to look. If you could come back with a comment regarding engine type and size I may be able to help in more detail.

Had the engine replaced three weeks ago, and now, there is a minor knocking sound coming form the engine.

Sounds like your Rodeo was taken to the circus. No warranty on that new motor? I need to know where the sound is coming from. Top, bottom, front rear or what. Is it a tapping or hard loud knocking??? Let me know and I will try to help you out. Raz

2001 isuzu rodeo Popping sound underneath -sometimes it sounds like it is in the engine sometimes it sounds like it is underneath or by the wheels front or back. It usually happens during acceleration but...

Need more info. Does it happen only in motion? Does this happen when sitting still and increasing the rpms? Does this happen when turning or going straight or both? Have you checked around your radiator fan to assure nothing is simply touching the fan? What sort of "pop" is it.. can you feel it in the steering wheel? Does it have a metallic sound, a dull sound or maybe even a plastic sound. Popping sounds are hard to diagnose without loads of information on them or even a more generalized area where the sound is coming from. Your description of where is coming from, pretty much said.. all over under the truck

Black exhaust smoke only for the first 30 seconds,

you're buring oil, either through piston rings or leaky valve seals. definatley check your oil more regularly. if it starts using alot of oil, might want to take it in and get it fixed or trade it off.
