Try getting out of the car and locking the driver's door, followed by unlocking the driver's door with the key. This should reset it, ( it will know you are not being kidnapped, but have come from outside the car. ) Then without touching the remote, you should be able to start engine. Should work, but let me know if not. THanks, TT

SOURCE: door locks not working properly.
one of the front door latches is out of adjustment or bad. when you lock it at the trunk try the front doors to see if they might still open when the alarm is set if so that is your bad latch. bad news is to replace it you will need to tear down the entire inside of door

there is a sensor in the drivers door that senses the door is locked or unlocked, if the sensor is defective the alarm will sound.
