Check all your connections to make sure they are tight and also at the starter, Also check your cables, make sure they are not cut anywhere or the insulation has rubbed thin. Also look for corrision, make sure your cables dont look swollen at any of the connections, if they are replace them.

My cheavvy tahoe batteries keep dying shortly after being put in

Battery failure on this scale, leads to suspect an overcharging fault with the alternator, continual over charging damages the plates in the battery leading to premature failure. Cold will effect the battery a little, but it should be able to cope. Connect a volt meter to the battery and see what the charge rate is. Engine running 2000 rpm, reading should be around 13.5 to 14.2 volts, if it is above 15.5 volts then it is damaging the battery. Hope that helps.

Seems to be a complete electrical failure

Always start at least 80% of all vehicle checking with
the battery first

Never go by how many years or miles are on something

If some module failed to time out, your battery goes dead in,
as you said, about 3 days & check if you left the interior lights on

Compurter says PSM and ABS failure - Porsche Boxster 08/2002

Hi,

Just had same problem this morning. I had noticed that the satnav was malfunctioning (i.e. developed a mind of its own!!) a couple of days ago and then this morning PSM/ABS failure......marvellous!! Anyway, simply disconnected battery, waited 10-15 mins, reconnected battery and hey presto my boxster fired up. However the PSM failure message still showed, so took it for a spin around the block and the message disappeared and, touch wood, everything seems back to normal. I think it must have been a battery problem, so just to safe I am going to get a new battery and hopefully I can look forward to years of trouble free motoring.....one day with the roof down!!!! (Where has the sunshine gone!!!????)

1998 Saturn sc2- car shuts off while driving

Had the same issue a few years back...and now something similiar.

My car would randomly shut off whether on the high way or not. Just replaced battery also. Brought to dealer, tested Batter/Alternator, and ended up with being just a loose battery cable. Fixed for about 4 years now.

Currently, I have a loose battery cable or ground, because the battery/alternator is fine, but when its cold, sometimes when I tap my brakes, the radio goes out randomly. Or lose all power after turning the key on, and move the positive battery cable around, and then everything works fine. So I am still trying to see what the problem is, just sounds like a cable or corrision.

Hope this helps.
