Battery Failure I have had this cars for a few years now and i have been plauged by random battery failures. It was fixed for a time by a new battery that is now three years old but recently after dirving for about a 1 1/2 it would not start and had absolutly no power in the cab. Tried it a second time time then started right up. I went to my destination and after it sat for mayber 5 hour had the same power failure and i had to be jumped.

Check all your connections to make sure they are tight and also at the starter, Also check your cables, make sure they are not cut anywhere or the insulation has rubbed thin. Also look for corrision, make sure your cables dont look swollen at any of the connections, if they are replace them.

How long does a battery last in a vehicle

This depends upon the quality of the car battery, and how you take care of it. If it is in a car and the car is driven daily, you should expect the battery will last 5-7 years.

If the car is not driven for extended periods of time, a battery tender should be placed on the battery, and failure to do this can ruin a battery. If it is a boat battery, during the off season the battery should be removed from the boat and a battery tender put on the battery.
If your battery has removeable caps on the top, make sure the battery is filled to the interal ring with distilled water. It is especially important to do this before charging a dead battery.

Do not store batteries directly on cement (place a piece of 2x4 under it). I know why, but batteries stored directly on the cement seem to die much faster and have a shorter overall life.

Charging system failure grand prix

Maybe also do the same to all the ground connections to the motor and alternator then clean the connector terminals to the alternator

Seems to be a complete electrical failure

Always start at least 80% of all vehicle checking with
the battery first

Never go by how many years or miles are on something

If some module failed to time out, your battery goes dead in,
as you said, about 3 days & check if you left the interior lights on

Battery light flashing

The battery light on, is an indication of alternator failure. If your battery is more than 3 years old it needs replacement . A bad battery can damage a new alternator (full field condition). The age of your truck warrants inspection of the charging system. It requires at Least 20 amps output, from the alternator to run the engine.

I have a 2006 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer edition). I love the car, but three times now it has just shut off at random while driving it. I receive a Engine Failsafe Mode message and the Check engine...

It's random failure of the ECM. I experienced the type of failure you describe in my '95 Windstar. Sudden total failure and check engine light on. Coasted to a stop (no traffic), let it sit for a few minutes with ignition turned off, then restarted and it ran fine.
