Use a "C" clamp slowly to push piston in. If not available push hard in center of piston with a wooden hammer handle or similar. If still won't move, crack open bleeder screw and try. Double check after re-install & make sure it retracts properly in case seized or partially seized.

How do i depress rear pistons on 95 grand prix

On the 1995 grand prix the rear calipers are turned and pushed in at the same time to get caliper piston in. be careful not to use a c- clamp to try and push them in as damage will occur to caliper, theres a tool used to push pistons in, theres one thats a wheel with pins that sit on the face of the piston and you turn and push in at the same time, lets see if i can get a picture for you, also you can rent this tool at many auto part stores.heres a few tools and a pictures, there is also a cube shaped tool thats cheap and does the job, good day, hope this helps.2_15_2012_6_54_24_pm.gif2_15_2012_6_54_38_pm.jpg2_15_2012_6_55_01_pm.jpg

How to replace rear brakes on ford focus 2001

to replace rear pads on a focus,you need to remove the caliper assembly remove both pads you will notice that the caliper piston has a grove, that is where a special tool locates because the caliper has the hand brake incorporated in it and has a thread in the back of the piston you need the tool to put pressure and turn the piston to move the piston down into the bore of the caliper to allow for the extra thickness of the new pads then , make sure that the piston grove is in the right position because the pad locates in that grove so fit pads back into caliper make sure your slides in the caliper are moving freely so you dont get any binding of the pads refit caliper do the same on the other side but the only thing different is that the piston turns opposite ,you will see if you are turning the wrong way the piston will try to turn out of the bore and you need it to turn in .BE VERY CAREFUL when the job is complete and you are ready to test drive the vehicle you need to pump the pedal until you have a full and solid bake pedal, because you need to push out the caliper pistons before you have a solid pedal and then you will need to top up your brake fluid at the master cylinder and your ready to go regards agwbk

Can not puss rear brake piston back in.

On this model , you need a special caliper tool to push the piston back in. It turns the piston and pushes it at the same time to put it back where it is supposed to be. If you have already tried this method, it is possible that the piston came out to far. If this has happened, it is very tricky, and sometime not possible to get it back in. You may have to replace the caliper.

How to replace rear brake pads on 2006 dodge sprinter 3500

replacing brake pads is pretty simple but because the results of not doing it correctly is pretty severe (can you say accident) I recomend you get a Haynes manual for your vehicle. Generally they can be purchased for approximately $20 at autozone. The basics for replacing brake pads (as opposed to brake shoes) is to losen the brake caliper so it can be moved up off the brake rotor. Then the old pads pop out. Next the brake caliper piston is pushed back into the caliper and the new pads fit in. Now the caliper is placed back over the brake rotor. Again, get the manual.

I can't figure out how to get the rear brake shoes back. My Haynes manual doesn't explain how to get them back on. Does anyone have any diagrams on how they go back on?

Brake shoes or Pads. My contour has disk brakes all round. You may have to screw the piston back in(clockwise) to get more room for the pads. This is because the parking brake has a screw device to actuate the parking brake. and you have to turn it to get it to go further in..Hope this helps.

Tricks to replacing rear brake pads, 2004 new beetle convertible. Caliper piston won't retract back into caliper. Using "C" clamp to retract (push) piston. Won't move back. Pushing pedal slightly moves it...

Notice the Two holes on the caliper piston face? They receive the pins of a special tool that turns and presses in at the same time to collapse the piston. You may be able to approximate the effect with a pair of needle nose pliers or such and turn & press in. The right tool works best.

your piston in the capiler is stuck. try to remove caliper and reset piston with a c clamp or replace caliper. berrydalewolf

Fluid leaking from rear hand brake boot seal ford telstar

the rear caliper have allenkey screw..first open the cover scew that cover the allenkey. and than turn the allenkey srew to move the piston..
after piston coming out, the are clip to remove the piston holder..
than remove all the part and cleaned..after that install new oil seal for hand brake lavel.. mostly the leaking come from oil seal hand barake lavel.

Cant compress rear caliper cylinder on 2001 Kia Optima

hi if the hand brake is operated with the brake caliper too then yes it will be a wind back if you do not have a tool you can use large grips and turn the piston clockwise beingcarfull not to damige the dust seal and after a few turns then push the piston back it will move but slowly

nice car i have one myself but the back brakes are a little bit tricky because you can not just push the brake calipers piston back into the bore. but here is how you can do it. you need a large plieres and you have to put the head of the pliers into the calipers piston then spread apart the handels so that the head of the pliers opens up against the inside walls of the piston. then all you have to do is Turn the piston back into its bore. See the rear caliper piston on the mustangs are just like a bolt. they are threaded into the bore and when your pads were they screw them selves out so when you redo your brakes you have to screw them back in just like a bolt.
