Question about Buick Cars & Trucks
Does it crank if so then it is not the starter. a car needs 2 things to run. gas ,air, and spark. is there a buzzing noise in the gas tank when you turn the key. do you know if you have spark to the spark plugs. if you have no spark then you need a crank position sensor

COULD BE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. LOCATED ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE ENGINE NEAR THE FREEZE PLUGS. I HAVE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND THIS SHOULD FIX IT. YOU WILL NEED AN 8MM WRENCH TO REMOVE THE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE. BEST OF LUCK. KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA.

several things to check out:
get it started and go have the battery, alternator, and voltage regulator tested. No charge at most parts stores.
IF they all test ok then you will need to remove the starter and have it tested. The solenoid could be bad. Was it wet outside the day it wouldnt start? if so then oisture is probably getting into the solenoid.

The starter is on the underside of the transmission, there are wires feeding the solenoid (remove) 3 starter bolts (remove) pull off transmission/flywheel
