Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab
Just found your posting of the problem, 1st thing to do is see why the check engine light came on. You can stop at a parts store, most will check for codes for free. They plug a hand held scan tool into the computer port under the dash, and 'scan' for any trouble codes stored in the trucks computer. Write down the codes, and have them explain what they mean, and what they recommend to fix the problem. U can post any questions here, include the codes. U need to get this checked out before u attempt the long trip home, as this could result in a breakdown, or possible further damage to the vehicle if u continue to drive it.
