THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE JAMIE, BUT LET ME EXPLAIN!! MY ENGINE OVER HEATED AND MY GAGES WOULD ACT UNUSUAL!! THE POSSIBILITY OF SOMETHING GETTING WET IS GOOD, BUT WHAT WOULD THAT BE?? ARE THERE FUSES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT?? THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!

To be honest I can't see why the engine overheating would have anything to do with your instrument cluster's gauges failing at the same time. Not unless your engine bay perhaps caught fire, but by overheating, I would think that you meant that your cooling system failed, likely due to a leak of some sort. In which case, I wouldn't think the overheating issue would be related. The instrument gauges use different inputs from different circuits.

ARE THERE ANY FUSES OR RELAYS UNDER THE HOOD THAT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY GOT WET AND EFFECTED MY INSTRUMENT GAUGES??

I'm not familiar with your specific vehicle model, but I am aware it was joint produced with Renault, so electrical issues may not be uncommon due to such an effort from the French. So yes, you may want to clean all wiring connectors in the engine bay, and especially the fuse box and related wiring, just in case.

Check the connections on the back of the instrument cluster. It sounds like you have a faulty instrument cluster board, a poor connection and perhaps, but less likely, an ECU issue.

Speedometer tachometer temp guage not working 2001firebird. All fuses are good

The sending units for those gages are not hard-wired to instrument cluster. That info goes to pcm. The pcm then sends serial data to instrument cluster telling the cluster what to do with the gages. If some gages work and some don't, I suspect the instrument cluster. Some instrument clusters are able to do a self-test. I don't know the models years involved? Even so you would need a scanner with by-directional controls to try the self-test. Don't take my work for it, check around.

My rpm gage is not working, my speedometer is not working, my gas gage is not working, and my oil gage is not working, and my temperature gage is not working pretty much when i start up my car and drive it...

I'd wager that the fuse that controls the gauges is shot, or one of the internal connectors got unplugged (Fuse sounds more likely). Radio, Lights, and Turn Lamps are usually on seperate circuits.

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. My Tachometer, Fuel Gage, and Speedometer quit working a few months ago. The Oil pressure, and Temperature gages work fine. All fuses are fine. I suspect a grounging...

have you tried working on one problem at a time?
have you check the body computer for any codes?
and to also verify the bus line is ok.
if you find nothing wrong with BCM or bus,
try checking the speed sensor for an output signal or if the gear is bad.

Have you checked the fuses? Look in the owner's manual for the locations... you might have just blown one.
