Question about 2007 BMW X5 3.0si SAV
OMG, I want to thank you all for your information. I was looking for any information I could find on how to get the key out of the ignition on my BMW 330 CI. My key would not come out of the ignition. I would have to put the car in park, turn off the key and then push the knob more into the Park position. I thought the coin blog would be to easy. I went outside, removed the ashtray and low and behold, there is a quarter in there. I was so excited. The key now comes out without and issues. Thanks again for your information.

Hello. Not sure if this will help you but it has worked with other vehicles.. If the wheels are turned sharply to the left or right, there may be a hard strain on the steering column that puts a tightness on the keylock preventing the key to turn or release. If the front wheels are turned hard left, try turning the steering wheel a little bit LEFT. There will be some resistance. While turning the wheel try to remove the key. Do the same thing if the front wheels are hard right, turn the steering wheel to the RIGHT a little bit and try to remove the key.
Hope this helps..

needs a locksmith or dealer to flash the onboard computer to allow the keycode to be recognized by the transponder chip.

well that definitely sounds as if you need a new ignition switch
does it appear as if its been tampered with or did this occur all of a sudden ...it should also lock the steering wheel .
