Okay well i lowerd the seat the other day to have a more storage. This morning i went to lift the seat back in the upright position and they won't budge. I can't find the owners manual and i really need help
I had the same thing happen! Pushed all the way down the rear back locks, to unlock push the lever in and press DOWN on the seat to release the lock.
I had to check my manual, I tried to lift it 'case it made sense but nope - you have to press down while pushing the lever.

ok have had this with my pajero. I went for a drive and came home tried again it worked. some time the mechanism get a bit stuck if not used regualary. I took me a number of goes for it to free up. and so give it a good clean get the dust out of the area once open. it only takes a bit in the wrong place to stop it working.
The locking mechanism on the rear lift gate for the Chevy Uplander has some plastic and rubber-coated parts that can get jammed. If you can pull back the panel from the inside top near the glass, you can reach down and try to spray some silicone lubricant into the lock. This could help get those parts unstuck so they spring back when you pull on the handle latch from the outside. Once you get the rear hatch open, I recommend taking out the locking mechanism and thoroughly lubricating it. Your rear lift gate will start to release very easily from then on.
If your top is electric then you will need to release the front cowl motors at the center point of the trim in front of the rear view mirror(small access plug needs to be removed and allen key inserted to drive unit.) You also need to pull the release handle under the back seat bottom(driver's side) The release handle detaches the drive units for the storage lid cover and the convertible top drive. Once the motors are released, the front of the top must be lifted approximately 6 inches and the pressure against the rear of the top will relax. raise the rear bow, open the storage lid, lower the rear bow and push the front of the top up and toward the back of the car. The top should fold into the storage area. Once in, close the storage lid until it clicks.
Thank you for the inquiry.
Ok, I know this is old but to help anyone in the future... It is really, really easy to remove the rear seat cushion.
You just push the bottom of the seat cushion in and lift up.
Keep rear seat back in upright position. You need to unlatch the rear seat cushion at 2 points, which are at the center of each seating position. You just squish the seat cushion towards the back of the car, right at the bottom where it meets the carpet and lift up. That half of the seat will popup, then repeat for other side.
It takes maybe 5 seconds to do.
You won't beleive how easy it is 'till you try it. This is how many, many cars mount there rear seat cushions.
Hope this helps helps. Please keep us updated and remember to rate this answer.

most likely the top pistons start to leak and the motor can create enough pressure to actually lift the top back to go in the storage area... i would let the tonuea cover lift open then get out the car and look around to see for fluid residue.. if not and there are no leaks.. possible the seals in the pump it self has gone out.. and the motor is still trying to pump... the pump and motor is located behind the rear seat under the small plastic panel/.
Most of the time its the little worm gear that went bad not the switch (the gear is slipping on the fixed bracket) I pushed back on the seat real hard and hit the switch and Mine went back finally, the track/motor assembly will have to be replaced(250 from Ford) Very Common problem .-----------------------to remove the seat First disconnect the connectors under the seat. Remove the 3 bolts (Front Left, Front Right, Rear Right). Remove the nut from the Left Rear. Lift seat up and out. thanks.
