Question about 1998 Volvo V70

Volvo v70 not starting only in cold or damp/cold weather

Below 50's, now not starting; last winter did not start in 30's; clicking sounds turn on right before it starts; changed the temperature sensor, still not starting; changed the spark plugs too; computer check negative, "no trouble codes "

Har\d to start whe ntemperature is below 30 degerees

Cold weather is extremely hard on batteries - is your battery old? It may need replacing. Also the oil should be a winter grade of oil as specified by your vehicle manufacturer. Oil becomes thick in the cold weather and resists the cranking of the engine. Hope this helps - let me know. Thanks

Starting in damp weather 1993 240 wagon, auto/od, 235k miles

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.
