SOURCE: tap size

it is a special tap just for spark plug holes, any auto parts store will have one, it is double sided to fit both 5/8" and 13/16" plug size. very cheap to buy.

How do I remove front axles?

It will be the same way on each side, you will start by removing the wheel, next you will remove the axle nut, next you will remove the lower balljoint nut and then use a balljiont fork to slpilt apart this will break free the lower control arm from the spindle, you will then use a pry bar to pry the lower arm down and pull spindle to side you will need to then tap axle out from spindle tie spindle out of the way, note watch out not to break abs connection wirem, unplug it if needed, next put a small pan under the inside axle area to catch any ****** oil that leaks when you remove axle from ******. using a long screwdriver or pry bar stick it between axle and ****** and give it a pull to break free axle from ****** and then slide axle out, to install reverse directions. hope this helps.

How do you pull the drive shafts out of toyota avalon from the transmission its a front wheel drive

Hello,

Changing these are not to tough actually.
  1. First you need to remove the tire rod ball joint from the spindle. (This is the middle ball joint on the spindle) (the spindle holds the wheel) Remove that bolt.
  2. Now take a mallet and hit the side of the spindle a couple good times and the arm will come loose.
  3. Lift it up and pull it to one side.
  4. Now the next thing to do is remove that lower ball joint. This is the bottom bolt on the spindle. You will need a pry bar and while your hitting the side of the spindle you will pry down until the lower ball joint and the spindle separate. You may need to pry the clamp apart too. This is where you removed that bolt from. This one can be a pain but is necessary.
  5. Next you need to get the get a Axle bolt remover the size of your axle bolt in a 1/2 inch drive.
  6. You will now remove the axle bolt.
  7. Now you you want to tap on the end of the axle rod as you hold onto the spindle and tap the axle lose from the hub.
  8. Once the spindle moves out from the axle then turn the spindle and move it just to one side of the axle.
  9. You should now have full view of the CV axle.
  10. Now get a long pry bar and get back there with the pry bar where the axle connects to the transmission and while prying on that CV axle pull out on it to. It may take a bit of fooling with as they can be stuck in there pretty good but eventually it will pop out of there. A note not to put your face in the path of the CV Axle or it may split your head when it comes popping out of the transmission.
  11. Now the CV Axle is out.
  12. Reverse steps to install new CV Axle.
  13. When you install the new CV axle make sure it goes in the same way it came out and make sure it "clicks" into place real good.
  14. Repeat steps to do the other side.
Regards, Tony

The driver side windshield wiper arm on my 2001 Chevrolet tahoe keeps getting stuck I tightened the bolt on the arm in which it works fine for a while but it messes up again

Hi this is because the "teeth" on either the wiper arm or the wiper motor have run and it is not not gripping into each other, if you remove the arm you will see lots of cut outs like a spindle, check to see which has run, arm, or motor spindle connection, if it is the arm it will be a quick and easy cheap job, if its the motor spindle, then it may be expensive and a long job to replace, i do however have a short term quick fix for this, but it is only a temporary thing, source an empty drinks can ( coke can that sort of thing) cut a rectangle size shape out of it, cut it to the hight of the spindle and it should be able to wrap around the spindle once ( one thickness of tin ) then gently tap the wiper arm back on ( normally a wooden mallet or a piece of wood) so as not to damage the arm ( if it is run inside the arm this wont make any difference anyway ) then just do the nut up and that should be it....hope this helps

How do I change the front driver side axle assembly on a 2001 Dodge Stratus?

first jack up side you will be working on and place jjackstand under the frame, next remove the wheel,to make it easier remove the caliper and tie away, dont remove the brake hose!, then remove the rotor it slides off you may need to tap backside with a hammer, next is to remove the bolt and nut from the lower balljoint, then use balljiont tool to saperate the lower control arm from spindle, you may need a pry bar to pull down on control arm to completly separte move spindle to side and let arm up, next remove the axle (cv) nut on the front, then use pry bar to pop out of trany, install new axle hold straight and slide into tray as far as you can then with nut on the axle a little tap to axle in to trany the rest of the way you will feel it go in and lock and then reverse direction to put back together, hope this helps.

1996 Cherokee Country will start and continue to run while pressing gas pedal. Let off and engine dies.

Sounds like a problem with the idle air control on the back of the throttle body next to the throttle position sensor. Sometimes they can be cleaned out by removing and using carb cleaner...if you do this don't loose the o ring and do not turn the valve spindle. Do clean the passageways going to the valve in the tb.

REMOVE BRAKES, ON BACK SIDE OF SPINDLE REMOVE FOUR RETAINING BOLTS AND HUB ASSEMBLY SHOULD COME OFF.. MAY HAVE TO TAP WITH A HAMMER TO BREAK FREE FROM THE SPINDLE... BE SURE TO THOUOUGHLY CLEAN THE SPINDLE BEFORE INSTALLING NEW BEARING ASSEMBLY.
