My fans by radiator dont work in my 1992 subaru impreza how do i get them working

1st, is there a check engine light on? if so have it scanned for trouble codes. Check all fuses & main box fuses under hood. it may also be the temp. fan sensor, you might try the A/C on to see if the fans come on, that will tell you if the fans are ok, which may point to the sensor.

Radiator fans not working

disconnect the temperature sensor the fans should start in a few seconds that would mean your relay is good usually the fans work if the engine is full of anti freeze so the temperature sensor can kick relay then relay starts fans.

Having issues with a 2000 chevy impala overheating have changed the radiator and the thermostat fans seem to be working ok but overheats at idle in stop and go traffic, after a certain amount of time it...

YOU NEED BLEED COOLANT SYSTEM.CHECK COOLANT LEVEL IN RADIATOR.ADD MORE DEXCOOL UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL IS CLOSE TO RADIATOR SPOUT.CRANK ENGINE LET IDLE UNTIL TOP RADIATOR HOSE GET HOT.WATCH TEMPERATURE GAUGE.IF TEMPERATURE GAUGE START RISING TO HOT ZONE.TURN OFF ENGINE.LET COOL DOWN.USE LARGE RAG SLOWLY OPEN RADIATOR CAP A LITTLE AT A TIME UNTIL ALL PRESSURE RELIEVED.REMOVE RADIATOR CAP.ADD MORE COOLANT.CRANK CAR AGAIN LET IDLE UNTIL TOP RADIATOR GET HOT.KEEP EYE ON TEMP.GAUGE ALSO.WHEN TEMP.GAUGE STOP CLIMBING.YOUR COOLANT SYSTEM BLED.WHEN DONE LET CAR SET A WHILE CHECK COOLANT LEVEL.ALSO FIRST THING IN THE MORNING CHECK COOLANT LEVEL AGAIN.AND BESURE ADD COOLANT IN THE OVERFLOW JUG TO THE COLD MARK.DONT OVER FILL THE COOLANT RESERVOIR JUG.WORK SAFELY DONT GET SCALDED.

I was told to put stop leak into the radiator, but the radiator cap doesn't go directly into the radiator it goes into a resevoir first. Is it still ok to put the stop leak in here?

take the top radiator hose off and pour it in there....and use the crush type tablets instead of the liquid stufff...prestone makes them and they work better and dont plug **** up....good luck..lee

Leaks Antifreeze but not all the time. Location of leak right center of Radiator. ( facing radiator) will a new raditor cap help?

hi,
no, I got a brand new radiator for a STS at a radiator shop for 140.00. shop around and replacing the radiator isnt too bad usually and you will save alot of money if you buy a chilton or haynes and do it yourself. Park it where children and unwanted people dont have access to your car. thats a strange place for a radiator to burst out of the blue. If you have to drive it in an emergency leave the radiator cap on to the first click or loose, but not tight. dont drive it at all if you dont have to.
good luck..

Radiator system is spraying steam out once it heats up I dont know anything about the coolant system and dont know if its the radiator or the hoses or if it could be anything else.

Hi
Firstly check from where the steam is coming out from.
Is it from the top radiator cap???... then its loose just tighten it...
Is it from the hose.... lower hose or upper hose.... change it.
worst case if it is from the radiator itself.....
Whatever you do... please dont go for a long drive till this is fixed....
Till you get it fixed please top the radiator with clean water else the engine will cease...

Berry
