my wild guess, you discovered the Ignition coil pack?
You mean turn on heat but get Only cold air ? Is it front heater work and hot? If so. The heater hose to the rear core is plug. Need to flush it from both direction and make sure is full of coolant (Water). You should be good to go.
I've have never heard of a "only cold air system", but hey, nothing surprises me anymore. try replacing the control unit in the front. hopefully that will take care of the problem. If not you need to check your blend valve. (headache depending on location)
sounds to me like you have a rear temperature door motor not working, remove rear left side panel to gain access to the heater box. and it will be the top acctuator twards the rear sells at dealer for @ 60-70 bucks
