Got the same bug

Hi Bill,
i've been bugged by exactly the same problem for about 2 weeks. Could you pls let me know how you fixed it? Did you simply replace the 'ignition switch'? where is this switch and how to replace it if so?
waiting for your kind answer with thanks.

The fix was to replace the ignition switch. The switch is located under the key slot on the steering column but replacing it is not easy, I had it done by a GM dealer after reading on here at least two descriptions of what it takes to replace it, one ended with the key stuck in the lock and ended up breaking the lock to get it out, and the other ended OK but the process was not DIY 101.

If you look around here, I think in this thread you will find the replacement process, with pictures but again I would say you are better off taking it to a dealer if you can.

Once the switch was replaced it fixed everything and all is still working fine now a few months later, sorry I could not give you how to DIY but after reading what it took I opted for the dealer.

Good Luck!

Bugs; First thing would be to try some Frontline II on them, it that doesn't work, you can take them to the vet to find out exactly what they are, but it sounds like fleas.

Does boiling water kill bed bugs

If you mean by washing then yes, if you mean by simply spraying then not really......it needs to be a constant stream of hot water, the best method is steam.....you can hire or buy these for a reasonable price:

Bag and launder (122°F/50?C minimum) affected items. Smaller items that cannot be laundered can sometimes be de-infested by heating. Individual items, for example, can be wrapped in plastic and placed in a hot, sunny location for at least a few days (the 122°F/50?C minimum target temperature should be monitored in the center-most location with a thermometer). Bedbugs also succumb to cold temperatures below freezing, but the chilling period must be maintained for at least two weeks. Attempts to rid an entire home or apartment of bed bugs by raising or lowering the thermostat will be entirely unsuccessful.
  • Wash all linen on hot, dry on hot setting. Gather all linen, cloth and leather bags, mattress covers, clothing, teddy bears... etc. Machine wash on hot - wash the laundry bag also. Tumble dry on hot. Steam kills bed bugs. Some metropolitan areas offer bed bug laundry and dry cleaning services which have the added benefits of proven methods for killing bed bugs and bagging or storing cleaned items so they do not become re-infested while the home is still being exterminated.
  • If something cannot be washed or discarded (such as a valuable leather purse) spray with non-toxic bed bug spray (such as diatomaceous earth), seal in a plastic bag and leave for a few months.
  • Dry clean to remove odor if need be.

I have a flowtron bk-2125 bug zapper, looking at the troubleshooting, it said check for power on the grid, how do i do that. I changed bulb and it is not coming on, it said if i have power then the starter...

If you have no power from the grid then bug zapper is not problem. If bug zapper is a corded plug in application then unplug and plug into a plug in that you know works. Check your breaker panel for a tripped breaker and reset if necessary. Or try a different appliance by plugging something that you know is operational into the same plug. If it works, there is likely an internal problem in bug zapper.

My A/C stopped blowing air today. What could be the problem? What do I need to have replaced?

FIRST look on top of your battery and there are 3 fuses. Pull them out to make sure the fuses or slots aren't burnt. That's a common problem in VW's. If those are fine it could be as simple as a relay switch or you just need to add freon. In my case(same exact think happened to my 2000 Bug 3 weeks ago) I needed a new condenser/compressor. Not a cheap or easy fix. Best to take it to your dealership to have it worked on.
