SOURCE: '01 F350 tailgate repair; handle no longer operates

You must remove the handle from the gate, this is done by removing the plastic tail-gate guard. On in side of gate are some torx screws , remove screws and gate guard will come off. Then there are some more torx screws to remove steel acess pannel, the tail-gate handel will be held in place by 2 10 mm nuts . After removal of nuts the handle will come out, inspect handle for brakeage or rust. replace if nessesary.

SOURCE: How can I fix the door handle on the inside of 1999 Toyota Coroll

It's probably broken, or unhooked. Just take your inner door panel off, and you'll soon figure out what's happening. Sometimes the rods get bent, or they come off the clip, or just need adjusting. And sometimes the handle itself is broken, but you can do it!

Rear 2007 pajero wagon back door handle broken

Get a replacement handle. Depending on whether it's an inside or an outside handle it isn't a difficult job to do yourself. It will cost you a bit of time, effort and the skin off at least 2 knuckles. It is basically open the door with the other release handle. Remove the door card and unbolt or unscrew the handle. Disconnect the pull levers and rods to drop the handle out. Fit the new one, connect the levers and rods. Bolt/screw it in place and refit the door card.

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo I DID replace the Relay switch or solenoid, but my fan still IS not coming on WHEN my car reach the temperature.

  • Your fan is designed to come on when the temperature rises ABOVE the normal operating temps. When driving at a steady cruising freeway speed the wind through the radiator fins is usually enough to keep the coolant within operating temps. When the wind through the radiator stops or slows dramatically, like pulling off the freeway and coming to a stop sign, the coolant gets hotter and the fan(s) will come on just to get the coolant back into the 'comfort zone' and shut off until needed again. Sitting at an idle can take a car an hour or so before the fan(s) kick in. If you have A/C then you could have two fans. One will come on when the A/C is turned on to assist with the cooling as the condenser gets extremely hot when operating

99 Yukon passenger door will open with inside handle. Must open door from outside.

Could be the clip that holds the rod into the handle had broken off, or could be the arm on the handle itself. If I remember correctly, there are stud on the handle with nuts to hold the handle in place, so that's not a particularly hard repair. Just take your time taking the trim panel off and pay attention how it comes apart.

2006 Ford Fusion. Left front door inside handle

This link is from the handle to the latch. The door panel has to be removed in order for this problem to be fixed. The linkage is inside the door panel, it is a small diamater metal rod called a link. If you do the job yourself be careful not to break the door panel. In a shop, the labor is 1 hour for the job & if any, parts will be a seperate charge.

Front end vibrates when braking at highway speeds

Most common cause for this is rotors that have become warped. It is not uncommon if you drive fast and brake hard OR live in hilly country or with heavy loads. The brakes get hot - the more they are used the hotter they may get. When they cool they do not cool evenly. If there is enough of the rotor left it may be resurfaced to true it. However - the thinner it gets the less heat it can handle. When rotors reach a minimum thickness (stamped on the rotor) they must be replaced.

Left power mirror replacement

There is a Technical Service Bulletin on the power mirror actuator for replacement. If your mirror just stopped operating, I would take it back to the dealer and they will fix at no charge due to the TSB.

For removing the door panel

  1. Remove window crank handle or power window switch assembly (if equipped).
    • Disconnect harness connectors.
  1. Remove pull handle escutcheon.
  2. Remove pull handle cover and remove screw.
  3. Lift armrest upward to release clips and remove armrest.
    • Remove front door finisher screws behind armrest.
  1. Release clips and remove front door finisher.
    • Disconnect lock cable and handle cable from inside door handle assembly.

Exaust getting too hot wont pass emissions

This is usually caused by it being plugged. The longer the exhaust is in the unit the hotter it becomes. They are very hot when new but over time they become restricted with deposits and the increase in heat is great. Usually it will also hinder the cars performance.

Toyota ECHO REAR DOOR HANDLE problem

I have this same problem, and I removed the interior door fascia to examine the cause.
As mentioned, the moving, plastic part of the door handle has a recess that houses the return spring. Under stress (under too little stress, if you ask me), part of that plastic that surrounds the spring ruptures (tears), and the spring can no longer exert sufficient force to get the handle to retract flush against the car.
There is no way to fic that plastic part--you have to replace the entire handle. Searching for "Toyota Echo Door Handle" will find you a number of on-line sites that sell BLACK handles for under $7.00! The dealer wants something like $50-$70 for an OEM part, with the right color.
I have the service manual, and replacing these things is a *****! You have to use a TORX bit to remove the actual latch in the door, to get it out of the way.
There isn't actually any fixed linkage between the handle and the interior latch mechanism. When you pull the handle up enough, a plastic cam on the handle strikes a metal lever within the car door, forcing the latch to release the steel hoop. So once you can ACCESS the handle, swapping it out looks straightforward. The problem is, accessing it is a pain. Make sure you have a magnetic grabber handy for the hardware!
I have yet to find a cheap source for SILVER handles on the Internet (none of the Internet Junkyards have responded).
