SOURCE: i need to change oil and filter can you tell me

They don't usually torque the drain plug, it is not subject to vibrations like a Harley. Just tight with the wrench will do it. Oil filters are a toss up, everybody says something else, How do they know,? If you change your oil and filter regularly, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Oil capacity, is potentially 5 qts, although some of these small engines take only 4. I would put in 4, run the engine to fill the filter and check it. If it is 1 qt low, you know it takes 5. And your engine should do fine with 10w 40. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I am going to change

My shop manual for my 1997 XR-7 4.6L V-8(NOT THE OWNERS MANUAL) does read yes there's a drain plug on the converter.I called Fe-duke Ford/Lincoln/Mercury and the service tech also said yes. Guess what? I finally changed my fluid & filter.Yes there's a drain plug on mine. It's a 1/4 inch hole so be sure you have lots of time cause it takes forever to drain. The plug is a hex (allen wrench) flush with converter ajasent to the rear end.Like pointing at the back of the car.

How do i replace the transmission fluid of 2009 nissan altima

two ways to do it
1-- drop the pan and drain half the oil and check / clean the filter
2---take it to an accredited auto transmission shop and have it changed with the engine running--- changes all the oil including what is in the torque converter with no need to drop the pan
method 2 is more expansive as you have to use more oil but the result is better as it removes any contaminants from the torque converter that method 1 does not do

What is the torque for oil plug for 2010 Toyota Venza?

Oil Drain Torque Specs Toyota Nation Forum Toyota Car and Truck Forums

The blog above lists 27 - 30 ft. lbs. torque for the drain plug. As someone in the blog stated, 30 Ft. Lbs. sounds excessive , and I agree. . You can torque the drain plug , but it's not critical to do so. Just snug the plug down. Do not over tighten the plug. It may strip out and it will distort the gasket.

Where do you add oil?

Hello,

  1. Jack up the car in the front and place on jackstands or place the vehicle on a service lift and raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the plastic undertray covering the bottom of the motor. There are usually five or six screws that should drop away with just a quarter turn from a screwdriver.
  3. Once you have removed the undertray locate the oil drain plug. This is basically a large bolt head that simply sits in the oil pan with nothing else attached. it sits in the pan sideways at the bottom of the pan on the passenger side. Beware of the transmission oil drain! It is not a bolt head, the drive of the transmission plug is in the shape of a star. Do not open this plug. Make sure it's a regular hexagonal bolt. You may want to use a torque wrench to take this off and to reinstall it.
  4. Place a tub or some sort of oil drain receptacle beneath the oil plug then remove the oil plug. Allow several minutes for the oil to drain completely.
  5. Remove the oil filter. You will need a filter wrench to break the old one free. Take care to keep the filter upright when you remove it as it is full of old oil. Drain the filter of oil in the same pan you used to drain the engine.
  6. Install the new oil filter. Use your finger and wet the rubber gasket on the new filter with the old oil that you drained. You only need a little bit. Then install the new filter where the old one is. Install with your hands and make sure the filter threads in straight. You should install the new filter at "hand tight" and if you like you can give it a slight tug with the filter wrench afterwards. DO NOT OVERTORQUE THE FILTER.
  7. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil plug (Audi recommends replacing this drain plug every oil change... its up to you). Be sure to torque the plug to specifications. DO NOT OVERTORQUE THE DRAIN PLUG.
  8. Replace the undertray and remove the drain tub and tools from underneath the car. Remove the jackstands and lower the car back on the ground. Pour new oil into the oilcap and start the car. Let it run for a minute then check your oil level again. Once you have your oil level adjusted you're all set. Some people like to fill the oil filter halfway with new oil before installing it. That is up to you.

Keep in mind, do not overfill the oil... if you do the excess oil can cause damage to your catalytic converter.

Hope this helped you solve the problem.

Take care and good luck

Can't find the oil plug and filter on my 2009 g3 wave?

Oil plug is on the bottom of the oil case (under the car). The plug takes a T45 star socket (available at auto parts store to fit a 3/8" drive). You may be tempted by the transmission plug on the driver's side of the car, this is NOT it. The oil plug is on the passenger side and drains straight DOWN. The plug is flat with the case so it is easy to overlook. Look for the round quarter sized circle with a star indentation that the T45 fits into. This is the oil plug. Most auto parts stores do NOT stock the filter (which has a no metal casing) so plan in advance to order one or two before you decide to change oil.
