A/c expansion valve 2000 chevrolet 1500 p/u


It has an orifice tube not an expansion valve. Follow the high side line from the firewall back to the radiator. There should be a fitting a couple bends back from the firewall. Take apart the line at that fitting and the orifice tube will be inside.

If it smokes all the time when the engine is running then the piston rings are worn out. If it only smokes for a short time when accelerating, then the valve stem seals need replacing.

The A/C high side valve is leaking on my 1994 Chevy Silverado 1500. It's an R134a system. Can the valve be replaced


yes with a schrader valve removal tool but before you do that check for dirt in the openning of the valve and if no dirt try to tighten schrader valve hope this helps

actually i would say no because there are 6 cyl transmissions with 4 frction plates and v8's have 5 friction plates in the forward planetary gear
