Is ATF+4 fluid supposed to be sinthetic

Used Auto Zone ATF+4. Was told it is not sinthetic. Is MOPAR ATF+4 sinthetic? My Grand Cherokee doesn't shift automatic when cold.

SOURCE: How to shift a 1998 jeep grand cherokee into 4 wheel drive

Four low is almost never used. I use it on very steep rocky or muddy trails in the woods or to pull someone out of mud or a ditch. Though some will shift standing still it is best do do this while rolling. Four high can be shifted at low speeds of 2 to about 35mph (higher also but not really good idea) Low can only be shifted between 2 to 10mph. If you find yourself stuck and unable to shift because you aren't rolling you can also turn the engine off, engage the transfer case and re-start. That avoids having the gears clashing together. Best rule is if it begins to grind, don't force it.

SOURCE: Transfer Case Lubricant for 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

that would be 80w90 for the differentual, for the gearbox it is 75w90 this is for a manual gearbox, and no do not use auto fluid in a manual box, it is way way thinner and your box would possibly last 2 to 3 days before you would be purchasing a new one, hope this helps

SOURCE: My '99 Grand Cherokee won't shift into drive or

putting in ATF and ATF+4 wouldnt cause your problem the only difference is the additives to the oil so rule this mistake out from your list ,if you had a hard shgift to start with then something else is wrong and now it just gave up the ghost on you ,so you have two choices and thats to either take it to gearbox specialist or rip the autobox out and fit a manual gearbox which to me is a better option as its easier to drive a manual and more economical .Not long scrapped one of these vehicles that was all fully functioning with a low mileage as it couldnt sell for even a low price of 500 euros as it was UK plated and a petrol version ,now a diesel manual i could have imported to spanish plates and it would have sold for around 5000euros but a gas guzzler with petrol at europeon prices ?? waste of garage space

What auto transmission fluid do i put into chrysler grand voyager se

If you read the back of any trans fluid bottle, it tells
you what it is for

Chrysler uses ATF+4 in most cases

If you have a drip stick, it should be stamped on it

Owners manual is a must if you own a vehicle &
you can always check with dealer service dept

What kind of transmission fluid? The auto parts store tells me ATF+4, my Chilton's Manual tells me Dexron II. I don't believe either really knows what they're talking about...

You should know that using ANY Dexron/Mercon fluid is not recomended, and has shown to lead to transmission failure.

MOPAR ATF +3 is the factory fluid. But, MOPAR has made a new fluid called ATF +4. Chrysler has posted a TSB saying that ATF +4 should be used now.

Both the transfer cases used during that time look similar. See the following diagrams:

NV242: http://www.wjjeeps.com/nv_242_01.jpg

Here are instructions w/ pics:

(If you have the 242 I believe you can use ATF+4 instead of the special Mopar fluid but I would check first to make sure).
