Question about 1986 Nissan Pickup 4WD 1986
I put new plugs cap and rotor, and get like 15 to a gal on highway
IF ITS FUEL INJECTED CHANGE THE SPYDER. OTHERWISE YOUR PROBLEM IS FUEL COMPONNENT RELATED INCLUDING A BAD 02 SENSOR THAT MAY NOT BE REGISTERING BECAUSE YOU HAVE A FAULTY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TAKE IT TO AUTOZONE AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT EVENTHOUGH THE LIIGHT ISN'T ON

Its just fouled some plugs again. Need an overhaul. If you just put a valve job on it it will just put more stress on the rings and will need it anyway. Not much you can do except change plugs all the time!

Sounds like a fuel mix problem possibly the oxygen sensor. If it ran like this immediately after the new plugs, I would check to make sure all the plug wires are on the right plugs and secure. Good luck!

Firing order okay? the MAF can do this to you (Mass air flow) a bad connection at the distributor can do this. The distributor connection can do this if the 180 signal is missing going to the ECM. So wiggle test that connection and inspect that male to female connection. The MAF (mass air flow) in this particular year it was called a volume air flow sensor so if this signal is missing signal to the ECM it stumbles the vehicle so wiggle test that connection also check fuseable links and ground for this mass air flow.Rule of thumb a backfire always occur when timing is off giving a lean mixture. and a miss under load is a meaning for not enough fuel.
