Question about 2000 Honda Civic
I checked the ignition module and the coil and both are fine. I even bought a new battery because it was dead. Im just not sure what else the problem might be with no spark. The only thing I can think of is something to deal with the computer itself. Can someone help. Thanks

if your not getting spark then your coil is the mostlikely cause it's obviously not a timing issue since you stated that the rotor is spinning. if the spark plugs are bad then replace them too . to be sure that your getting spark to all cylinders test each of the spark plugs after replacing the coil. just to besure it's not starving for fuel as well spray a little ether in the breather if it fires off right away that means the even though your fuel pump works it may not have a high enough pressure. let me know the results

i've found on hondas when the there is a no start problem when the engine spins over fine. when the plugs wear out the cylinders get washed down with gas and it sounds like it has no compression. if this is what its doing put a little bit of oil in each cylinder not too much though then put new plugs iin it, however if there is no spark at the plugs it's probably the distrubutor

Changing out the old battery, you may somehow shorted something out in the car. You can check this by seeing if you have any power going to the lights on the car and what ever else that uses the power when you turn on the key. Newer cars like yours usually cant short out, but if the lights and other stuff dont work when your check them, disconnect the battery and look for the fuse panel. Check ALL your fuses and make sure none of them have been blown. You can check that by seeing if the filament in them looks to be burnt or broken as if it popped.
You can also check and make sure that the negative battery terminal is on tight enough. Sometimes a bad ground can mess everything up. As your doing this, before your reconnect your battery, go under the hood of your car and disconnect the horn. This will allow you to work without the horn blaring. To disconnect the horn, its just a wire with an end that simply slides over a metal tab, just give it a pull and it should come right off. You may have two horns so check both sides of the radiator. Check all of your grounds: There is one in front of the transmission leading from the negative wiring from your battery. Another goes from your battery wiring to the inside of your fender area. 10mm bolt. There is another on your driver's side motor mount to the valve cover. Check all relative fuses too.
Main Relay : Up above your gas pedal. Above your cruise control computer. It will be a gray box or a brown box about 3" square. TO DIAGNOSE: Try to tap it while you try to start it, you might need a helper. If this is it... Don't buy a new one, just pry the cover off of it and look close to find the broken solder connection. Heat the faulty pin until the solder puddles around it and your good to go. It's smaller than a human hair, look close and you'll see the loose connection.
