Have you received the codes, what are they? very low ide will flash an oil light, raise the idle. It sounds like you have quite a problem, knowing the DTC codes is critical, a stuck converter wont make it run rough, that is a problem with the converter itself or the solenoid that controls it. Can you check for codes or pending codes?

Have you tried to replace the oil pressure sensor - it helps regulate your oil pressure in your vehicle. Not an expensive part but they do go out from time to time.

I think you have ruled out the engine with all the parts you have replace. The transmission torque convertor is in lock up mode all the time. The engine is having to hard of a time to stay at the normal idle. The over drive clutches and soleniod are most likely damaged in the transmission.
I think you should take the vehicle to a trasnmission shop , The can check the torque convetror soleniods and pressure control soleniod.

The oil light coming on bothers me. I know you have the rebuilt engine in the vehicle but I think the oil pump in the engine is starting to go out or could be weak. The lower bearings connected to the crank shaft might be starting to leak. Have the oil pressure checked .

If the engine seems to run fine over 1450 RPM maybe there is a vacuum hose leaking or EGR valve is slightly stuck open. Any help from the OBD II trouble codes? Or is there simply no MIL and no stored information in the OBD II computer read at the local parts store through the connector by the drivers knee?

Truck is running rough. Changed intake gasket, brake booster, and put in new spark plugs. Truck runs good for a few miles then it runs rough again. What could this be?

Do you have a check engine light on ? Is it cold when it runs good an then not when it warms up ? You need to have a diagnostic scan tool hooked up , check engine sensor data parameters .Have a pro diagnose it before replacing parts .ECT - engine coolant temp . sensor , mass air flow sensor , O2 sensors , also check fuel trims , if you know what those are . Fuel trims are a good diagnostic tool , is the PCM adding fuel for lean condition ., low fuel pressure ,plugged fuel filter , worn fuel pump etc... Or is the PCM subtracting fuel , leaking fuel injectors , bad fuel pressure regulator . What make , model an year vehicle ?

2001 cadlillac Seville sts northstar. Check engine light on and running rough. Mechanic said running lean on both banks Drives just fine at highway speeds. Only at stop lights and idle will it shake.

Have the fuel pressure checked. If pressure is correct, there may be an air or vacuum leak letting unmetered air into the intake. Could be a loose vacuum hose, an air leak at the intake manifold gasket, a torn big air boot from the air filter to the throttle body. If you are sure there are no air leaks, you may need the injectors checked for proper fuel spray, but with both banks running lean it is doubtful it is an injector problem. Check fuel pressure first.

Rough idle while in park, cutting out on highway

It could be something as simple as a vacuum line, but sounds fuel related. Possible pump.get a fuel pressure reading done and if pressure doesn't hold.....suspect fuel pump

Changed intake manifold gaskets, and while doing so, spilled a bit of coolant that was left in the intake in with the oil. Changed the oil before I even started my truck, and since then, I will have oil...

It sounds like oil pressure switch is bad. You said you changed? To clarify, your oil pressure switch is also a safety item that shuts down ignition when oil pressure drops. Try an oil pressure gauge (hand held) to relieve your nerves about engine seizure. Make sure you're not getting to much fuel in engine also, that will dilute oil to a thin viscosity and show low oil press.

Check intake gaskets. Pour warm soapy water on the gasket when it's running. If it bubbles like crazy, you have a leak. 2. Check timing. Shoot a timing light at the crank mark. If it jumps around a lot, your chain has jumped. #3. check cam. Remove valve covers, run the engine, and see if they are all raisng the valves the same. Put a piece of cardboard along the bottom, and fold it around a little, so it forms kind of a " half valve cover". That way you won't lose oil everywhere, and make a mess, or a fire.

Is the car flashing any codes. I would look for fuel issues possibly fuel filter, injectors etc. Because these items are easier to check. Otherwise it sounds as if the timing is off on the car. If the Hydraulic tensioner is not replaced this could cause the belt to jump teeth as well. PRETTY SURE YOUR TIMING IS STILL OFF
