SOURCE: 01' Jaguar XJR Starter location?

If you get just a click you should first check battery charge and all battery connections. The click is probably the solenoid kicking in but without enough battery to turn over the engine.

Clicking noise wont start

Sounds like a weak solenoid on the starter. Probably needs starter replacement. Those cars need a mechanic to work on them.

Wont start

If you're not hearing the usual rotation from under the hood that precedes the engine starting then it's likely your starter, everything else works because your battery is good. You can get a rebuilt starter from $70-200 depending on the make and year of your car, they usually come with warranties; google "starter repair near (zip code)" to find a shop that specializes in this type of repair.

2008 sl awd Nissan Rogue, won't start Battery seems to have power making a clicking sound may be starter, having hard time finding starter location.

Know this problem was posted several years ago, but having same issue with my 2008 Nissan Rogue. We've tried everything short of having the battery replaced, (including charging it), and nada. So, tomorrow morning, that'll be our next move. Sucks, but best thing to die. Much rather than than an alternator, starter or solenoid.

The clicking is the starter solenoid which is normal, the starter motor is not making a good contact due to it's worn, a starter replacement will fix the problem.

Clean your battery terminals and make sure the contact surfaces are good. Also have the battery tested. It must have at least 12v and withstand a 200 amp load for fifteen seconds and return quickly to 12v after load is removed.

Wont start, just clicks.

This problem is caused by the starter motor contacts inside the starter solenoid being worn burned and pitted, U CAN REPLACE JUST THE CONTACTS FOR ABOUT $15, CHECK EBAY MOTORS FOR THE PARTS FOR YOUR YEAR OF TRUCK.
