Headlights work but not taillights what is the cause and how do i fix it?

First you need to determine if all lights in the back are out or just brakes lights or tail lights. Check fuses, taillights will have their own fuses. Could be a bad dash switch, which would be evident if brake lights work but not taillights.

Why do I have brake lights but no Tail light when the lights are turned on? put in new bulbs..

It is fairly common on US cars for the taillights and dash to be on the same fuse. This is apparently planned so you would know when you taillights are out. (the manual does not tell you that) If you have a owners manual, find the taillight fuse and it is probably blown.

1995 grand am no dash lites or gages but fuse ok

If you have no dashboard lights or instrument lights , you must check two fuses . The taillight fuse feeds the instrument light fuse . If you checked the instrument lights fuse and it is good , check the taillight fuse . Regarding the gauges , the gauge fuse is the only one that feeds them .

My tail lights are not working, it keeps blowing my fuse.

1.Unplug your taillights at the sockets and the front running lights from sockets.
2. put in new fuse after unplugging taillights.
3 turn on taillights if fuse blows then the wiring is grounding out somewhere between the switch, fuse panel, and rear and or front parking lights.
4.If fuse does not blow then plug in one socket at a time keep rechecking fuse. when the fuse blows after plugging in a certain socket suspect that one to be bad and replace.

My taillights went out after towing a trailer. I checked all fuses including the drivers side panel and under the hood but found no blown fuses. The brake and turn signals work

I would check to see if you are getting power back to the socket, when the taillights should be on. Also, check for continuity of the taillight bulbs.

2002 Jaguar X-Type - Looking for the Taillight Fuse

The fuse you are looking for is in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box, the fuse for the left hand tail lamp (viewed from the rear of the vehicle) is F64. The right hand tail lamp fuse is F63 - both are RED in colour and rated at 10 amps. Hope this helps.
