Mustang GT 2002 oil pressure gauge dropping to zero

The first order of business is to check the oil pressure while the gauge is not working. If the oil pressure is fine and the system reading zero, there is a fault in the oil pressure switch circuit. Often, the problem is related to the oil pressure switch itself. I have seen cases, too, where the oil pressure switch fails internally, causing oil to push past the seal and into the wiring connection causing a short. The wiring harness has a single pin.

Another area, though it fails much less often, is a break in the wiring between the oil pressure sender/switch and the ECM module (located in the right passenger footwell) and between the ECM and the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may also have a short, though the sender is the most likely issue here.

2001 grand cherokee 4.0. My check guages light came on and my oil pressure was at 0. It has been tapping but now it is LOUD! I was going to get a new oil pump tomorrow but i've been hearing bad things...

Forget about the oil pump. I haven't seen it either but by experience, 99.99% of pressure problems are not caused by the pump but are the result of either an obstructed pump pickup or a bad rod or main bearing. Since yours is very noisy, I'd be willing to bet that a bearing has failed (one or more). To do a proper repair, the engine needs to come out and be completely torn down and rebuilt. Anything short of that will leave debris inside where it will make short work of any repair you make. Your best option now is a scrapyard or remanufactured engine. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but it's fact!!!

How do you fix a code p0700 and 70-03 on a honda hrv? the Honda is shaking when is stopped and sometimes accelerates when it is stoped

The 700 is a generic transmission malfuction code. Anything that goes wrong wih the solenoid package will set this code. The other I haven't seen, typo maybe? If it is 703 then it is a brake switch circuit b malfuntion. The 700 will need more diagnostics to find whats exactly wrong with it, or you can replace the entire solenoid package in the transmission. 703 replace the brake switch on the brake pedal. Most solenoid packages come out fairly easy, just messy. Drop the pan, lots of oil, remove the filter, usually just snaps in, some bolt in, About a dozen bolts and remove the solenoid package.

Oil light keeps coming on

1992 ford explorer with the oil light coming on, this can be due to a bad switch, this switch is called the oil pressure switch and is located near the oil filter area, this would be the cheapest way to go first and if the light still comes on then you will need to have a pressure gauge hooked to where the switch goes and the gauge will tell you if its really low on oil pressure and if it is then this may be due to worn engine bearings or weak oil pump, i will tell you i have not seen an explorer with low oil pressure just needing a oil pump, most of the time it is time for another engine. what =i have seen is alot of them with bad oil pressure switches that were making the oil light come on . hope this is helpful, good luck.

Where is the oil pressure switch on a 2001 f150 5.4L engine (supercrew) does anyone have a picture or diagram how to find it? When oil pressure gauge drops to zero and light comes on until engine warms up....

Left ( driver's side ) front of the engine on the 5.4L engine.

This is shown to be at the end of the baffled area of the intake, the edge of the pleated area farthest from the airfilter ( looking at the engine, the left side of the pleated folds ).
When you locate this, look down the front of the engine.

The connector is a black 1 pin connector with a White w/ Red Stripe wire to it.

You might have to remove the factory air intake plastic housing to see it.
