Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Chevy aveo The computer at the autoparts store said i needed a 15 amp fuse but when i went to replace it, it had a 20 amp fuse in it. Considering that it currently doesn't work and it is a used car, I thought that maybe it was the wrong fuse to begin with but i cannot find any info anywhere else as to which it needs. Anyone know? 15 or 20? Thanks :-)

Hi, you cant go wrong with 15A fuse, fit it and if the problem persists check the fuse if it has not blown then the problem is somewhere else, if it has blown try a 20A, there is very little difference. But what is the problem with the Chevy what equipment is not working? good luck

Hi Angela, As you have said it is the cigarett lighter then either a 15 or 20 will be fine. good luck.

SOURCE: Replace Fuel Filter on 2006 Chevy Aveo Hatchback

If the fuel filter is mounted inside the fuel tank at the pump it does not need replacing and is a permanent filter. All you have to do it follow the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine. If the filter is mounted in the fuel line you will find it.

Are there a lot of problems with chevy 2006 Aveo

Well, Gm couldn't sell any more geo metros so they renamed it the chevy metro. That didn't work too well so they renamed it the chevy aveo. Modern equivalent of the chevette. Research the Daewoo lanos, it is the same car under the skin.

Aveo radiator fan FUSE

You never replace a fuse that blows with a higher amp one . That's a good way to set your car on fire ,melting wiring etc.... The fan isn't blowing harder ,drawing to much current . lower resistance in the circuit .

Why is all this happening.????? Because you have electrical problems . Do voltage drop testing on the problem circuits , testing with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter .

Where did you fine this fuse for The radiator fan is blowing to hard and is killing the fuse.So went from a 10 to a 15. My service info states it take's a 30 amp fuse . An it has two cooling fan relay , an a droping resistor . Unless your mixed up on your fan's , Heater blower motor fan ? From reading your post , i'd say you don't know anything about automotive repair . Suggest you take your vehicle to the dealer . We know your vehicle better then anyone else .

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. A couple of months ago, just after starting the car one day, the 'check engine' and 'trac off' lights both came on. I immediately shut off the car, waited approximately 5...

Many cars have the cooling fan on a thermostat or time delay, to allow it to run for a short period of time after the engine turns off, to cool the engine off. You may have just never noticed it before. So I wouldn't worry about that.
Your real problem is the blowing fuses, apparently you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Putting in bigger and bigger fuses is a great way to set fire to your wiring harness. It's possible that the wire is pinched or chafed somewhere, and perhaps when you hit a bump just right, it touches and shorts.
You may have to take this to the Chevy dealer or a GOOD independent shop to have them chase it down. Unless someone out there knows exactly what this is, it could be a tough one to find.

The headlights in my s-10 do not turn on. What should be the problem?

check the fuses, if the fuse is split it needs to be replaced with the same amp # on the fuse. You can buy them at any local autoparts store. If that doesn't work then pull your headlights and test them by touching the two wires to your battery terminals your headlights should cut on instantly. If they do not then you need to replace your headlights $10 or $15 a piece. Good luck

Its a 2005 Chevy Aveo and for some reason the front and rear windshield wipers dont work.

Check the fuse first it's in the underhood fuse relay panel and there names are marked on the inside of the lid (wiper) Some units have a relay too and it can fail.

Fuse diagram

Buy a repair manual from an autoparts store for $15-20. Call first to see if they have one. Or get a factory manual CD off eBay for $5 or so.

2001 Dodge Caravan, all gauges and dash instruments are out HELP!

check in the fuse box on the drivers side under the hood. Check for "display lights" or "Dash" maybe even under "ACC". For the signals check for "turn signals" or "Lights" Should be 15 and 20 amp fuses. Replace those and everything should work. If you cannot find the signals and other things in the fuse box when checking the diagram, then look at all the 15 and 20amp fuses by pulling them out with needle nose plyers. Whichever fuses look cracked, snapped or burnt should be replaced. You could pick up a pack of fuses at a gas station or autoparts store for about $2.99
