The fuel pressure regulator is located on left side about midway of fuel rail. It has a small vacumn line cnnected to it. The diaphram can leak causing hard start after engine is warm.

2007 chev colorado fuel pump

First I would check for a stopped up fuel filter or just replace the filter. When you remove the fuel filter, look at the fuel that comes out and see if there are beads of water in the fuel. If the filter is ok and no water is in the fuel, you need to check the fuel pressure. Some Auto Parts stores will lend you a fuel pressure test kit. Throttle Body pressure is around 18 to 24 psi. For port tuned injection 40.5 psi to46 psi. Depending on the type of fuel injection you have, if this pressure is there, turn the ignition switch off and see if the pressure remains at the pressure you had with the ignition switch on. The pressure may slightly drop lower and then slowly drop off 3 to 5 psi after 3 or 4 Minutes but not back to zero or near zero in a short period of time. If the pressure is 10 or 15 psi lower then stated above, you may have a fuel pump check valve in the fuel tank that has stuck in the open position, or the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad and leaking. If the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad usually the fuel mileage has dropped off, and black smoke would have been coming out the tail pipe, the engine would have been idling rough.

96 chev 1500 w/6 cyl vortex, started running rough, then smells like gas, now engine light comes on and white smoke

Either your fuel injector assembly or fuel pressure regulator has gone bad. The intake cover (upper plenum) needs to be removed to inspect both. This motor has an internal pressure regulator that is prone to leaking, should be pretty obvious (puddles of fuel under and around regulator). If you remove the cover and see no fuel then suspect fuel injector assy. It has been updated to a new design so don't be alarmed if it looks different than the old one. Good luck

My chev pick-up is not starting right away after hot and you cam smell fuel and i changed fuel pump

If it's not leaking fuel under the vehicle, the problem could well lie in a faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator.... If the rubber diaphram in the FPR becomes compromised, your described symptoms appear due to fuel leaking into the intake and not leaving the fuel line w/ injectors with enough initial pressure to instantly start the car.
Simply remove the vacuum line which is connected to the fuel pressure regulator then insert the key and turn to the "run" (not "crank") position. If fuel squirts out where you disconnected the vacuum hose, then this is definitely your problem. Good Luck!

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 1991 chevy corsica?

under the intake manifold between the fuel rails to replace you need to remove atleast one of the fuel rails to spread them apart for the regulator its not a very hard thing to do just be careful with removing the intake
