Have you got the compressor apart, If not it is easier to replace the whole compressor, Jusat get a used one from a auto wrecker,

I have a 2000 passat wagon and it's making a loud

this case one of the drive belt pully have damage bearing ( tensioner roller /assis,pully ,compresor pully , alternator bearing , it;s easy if you find small hose , start engine and try use hose to consentrate where is the sound come from . S.W on air con. if the sound up more .replace compresor pully (magnetic coupl.)

Squeeling while in motion. cannot reproduce while sitting. belt looks good.

One of your accessory pulleys is possibly bad. Remove the belt,and
turn all the other pulleys by hand,to feel for bad bearings. If there is a
pulley,that is hard to turn or is hanging up,in a particular area,that
pulley bearing is bad. Also,while having everything together and running,
turn on the A/C,to make sure it's not coming from your A/C compresor
clutch,which happens often. Good luck.

Wierd noise in the belt of the compresor

HI, i would have the AC clutch bearings checked for dry points. if the bearing check out ok, replace the belt.

it sounds as if the Bearing is out on the A/c compressor you can just replace the bearing and save a lot of money but you need the right tools to do this to get your air gap set right on the clutch again i suggest takeing it to a shop you can trust for the repair

this isn't easy and you will need special tools.  You will most likely need to have the compressor on a work bench.

Noise from A/C Compressor

Hi,it is allways better to remove the compresor ,do to the lack of room to work on the engine compartment,by what you are telling me it sounds like your compresor is bad you may try to replace the bearing but you may found the compresor on line for the same price with less troubles. good luck.C1

check your harmonic balancer they where notorius for going bad on buicks.Remove the belt and grab the balancer and see if you can rock it back and forth by hand. if you can its the balancer
