Should be an adjustment on the linkage to the clutch fork. Adjust to give some free play at pedal.

My truck is sticking when trying to put it in 1st unless shut off. It is a 1983 Chevy S10 Durango pickup

Possible Clutch Issue.. First check fluid level in your clutch reservoir to see. if you have fluid your good if not possible leaks try to fix the leak and bleed the system.. or if that seems okay then maybe needs a clutch :(

Have you got a hole in the floorboards????
It could be something loose in the clutch or just something ricochetting around the bell housing.

Clutch on a 1986 chevy

To change the clutch you'll need to remove the transmission. Because of the number of steps involved with this, space here doesn't allow complete instructions. This can be done by one who isn't that familiar with auto mechanics. Check with your local library to see if it has a repair manual covering your truck. Follow the instructions carefully.
