In the center of the engine block (on top) is a black, long, plastic rectangular box. it will be located under your air work. you will have to take the air intake hoses off, undo the two phillips screws to your throttle cable mount, undo the 6 or 8 bolts, i believe the coil packs have two bolts on them. undo those, pull out the rubber plugs and you will need an extension and a socket for the pugs. im sure you can figer it out. let me know if you have any more problems. owning a kia a find myself fixing everything. fix yours up, and SELL IT!!!! i wish i could but im in love with it. right now im having issues with the running light. (tail lights). keep blowing fuses trying to find the short now.... oh, and my **** blower resistor is out as well...lmao fml

Replace spark plug's

Things you will need
Spark Plug Socket And Wrench of the correct size for your spark plugs

Basic Instructions.
Step 1
Locate your spark plugs
look for other obstructions besides your spark plug wires
if you have any other obstructions you will need to remove them as well to gain access to your spark plugs.
Step 2
Remove the spark plug wire for one single spark plug at a time.
this will insure you will not replace the wrond spark plug wire to the incorrect spark plug,
if not done this way you could change the firing order of your engine.
Step 3
With your spark plug Socket and wrench rotate the spark plug in a counter clock wise direction for removing.
Step 4
After you have removed your spark plug insert your new replacement spark Plug into your spark plug socket before inserting it into the correct location. spark plug sockets are made to hold on to the spark plug for easy removal and install.
Step 5
insert your new spark plug,
before you rotate your spark plug for tightening rotate the spark plug a 1 quarter turn in the counter clock wise direction, then start tightening the spark plug by rotating it in a clockwise direction
This will insure you will not strip the threads.
Step 6
Continue rotation your spark plug in the clock wise direction untill snug, then with just a lil more pressure tighten it up just a little more.
be sure to not put to much force on the spark plug after it has been snug, you just have to apply a little more pressure but not to much that could cause it to break.
Step 7
After tightening the spark plug replace the correct spark plug wire.
then move on to the next spark plug and follow the same instructions.

if you have any other visiable obstructions preventing you access for replacing your spark plugs you will need instructions on how to remove them parts. i have just instructed you on how to remove and reinstall the spark plugs only.

How many spark plugs are on the mercury milan 2007. I only found 3.

For 2007 Mercury Milan 3.0L SFI DOHC 6cyl the upper intake manifold must be removed to access the RH spark plugs only.
  1. Remove the upper intake manifold, if removing the RH spark plugs. Refer to the Intake Manifold procedure in the Engine Mechanical Section
  2. Disconnect the 6 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
NOTE When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.
  3. Remove the 6 bolts and the 6 ignition coil-on-plugs.
WARNING Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs, or damage can occur to the cylinder head or spark plug.
NOTE Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well before removing the spark plugs.
  4. Remove the 6 spark plugs.

To install:

Inspection

Inspect for the correct routing of the spark plug wires. Improper routing may cause cross-firing. Inspect each wire for any signs of cranks or splits in the wire. Inspect each plug wire boot for tearing, piercing, arcing, carbon tracking or a corroded terminal.
If there is any corrosion, carbon tracking or arcing indicated on a plug wire boot or terminal, both the plug wire and component it was connected to should be replaced.

Replace Spark Plugs

What size engine have your behicle?

2.2L Engine
  1. Remove the ignition coil housing.
NOTE Remove any water and debris from the spark plug holes before spark plug removal with compressed air. Remove the spark plugs with a spark plug socket.
  2. Inspect the spark plugs.
To install:
  1. Gap the spark plug, using round wire type spark plug gap gauge. Adjust the spark plug gap to 0.045 in. (1.14mm).
WARNING DO NOT coat the spark plugs with anti seize compound. Over torquing could occur and damage to the cylinder head threads may result.
  2. Install the spark plugs with a spark plug socket. Tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  3. Install the ignition coil housing.

2.4L Engine
The spark plugs on this engine are located under the ignition coil and module assembly. To gain access to the spark plugs, the coil and module assembly must be removed. On the 2.4L (VIN T) engines, the spark plugs are platinum and require replacement every 100,000 miles (160,900 km) or 60 months which ever comes first.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the 4 bolts retaining the Electronic Ignition (EI) coil/module/cover assembly (depending upon vehicle application), then detach the electrical connector. Remove the assembly by pulling it straight up away from the engine.

    5cdc221.jpg

Fig. To remove the cover, unfasten the four bolts, then pull the assembly straight up from the engine
  3. If the connector(s) sticks to the spark plug, use spark plug connector removing tool J-36011 or equivalent, and a twisting motion to detach the connector(s) from the plugs.
  4. Clean any dirt away from the spark plug recess area.
  5. Remove the spark plug using the proper size socket, extensions and universal joints, as necessary. Hold the socket or the extension close to the plug with your free hand, as this will help lessen the possibility of applying a shear force which might snap the plug in half.
To install:
  1. Lubricate the threads lightly with an anti-seize compound, then start the four spark plugs by hand. Tighten the plugs to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
  2. If removed, install any the plug boot connectors that may have stuck to a spark plug to the EI assembly.
NOTE Check to make sure the spring terminal is inside the boot.
  3. Install the EI coil/module/cover assembly to the engine, while carefully aligning the boots with the spark plug terminals, by pushing the assembly straight down.
  4. Apply Loctite®thread locking compound, or equivalent to the cover bolts. Install the bolts and tighten to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
  5. If removed, engage the ignition cover electrical connectors.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

I really hope helped with this (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Change sparks plugs on 06 hyundai sonata v6

You didn't specify whether you have the (4) cylinder or the (6) cylinder engine..... I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L 4 cylinder and I just changed the spark plugs in it. I believe that the 2005 2.4L engine is the same. To locate and change the (4) spark plugs on a 2004 Hyundai 2.4L 4 cylinder engine: Remove the (4) 12mm bolts from the decorative plastic engine cover. Remove plastic cover from engine and place it off to the side out of your way. Standing in front of the car, the (4) spark plugs are located laterally (left to right) in the recessed area underneath where the plastic engine cover was removed. Note: This engine has (2) coils....They are located above spark plugs number (2) and (3) from left to right. Starting with the fist spark plug on the left: Remove the spark plug cable by pulling straight up on the insulated connector. Using a spark plug socket, remove the old spark plug and install a new one in it's place. To access the second spark plug from the left, remove the electrical connector and the spark plug cable wire from coil number (1) and then remove the (2) 12mm bolts that secure the coil to the engine. Spark plug number (2) is located directly under the coil. Lift the coil straight up removing the insulated connector from spark plug number (2). Using a spark plug socket, remove old spark and install a new one in it's place. Repeat same procedures for spark plugs number (3) and (4). Note: If you have the (6) cylinder engine, the front (3) sparks pluge are readilly accessible but in order to access the (3) rear spark plugs, you will have to remove the intake manifold
