Remove the distributor cap and ask somebody to start it for you to see whether the rotor in the distributor rotates. If so check whether you do have power coming out of the distributor to the spark plugs. if no spark comes out then check from the distributor the inner side where the carbon is if is not missing or broken.

SOURCE: 97 geo prizm has fire and fuel wont start

check all your relays with an ohmeter to make sure they all operate. A code would go off usually only if it is an electrical problem. If you are getting fuel and fire, and no codes it is most likely a relay. If you did have codes then I would say sensor. So check those relays

SOURCE: 2000 Toyota Celica GTS has no INJECTOR pulse it CRANKS-won't start HELP!

Ok power TO the injectors is supplied THROUGH the IG3 relay and the computer supplied the ground circuit, but the computer must receive a signal from the crand and cam sensors to 'PULSE' the injectors. Make sure that one side of the injectors have 12V with the key on
If you disconnect an injector connector and connect a 12v test light across the connector ( one end of the testlight to one terminal of the disconnected connector and the other end of the testlight to the other terminal in the same cnnector) ccrank the engine the test light should Blink Do this to all Four (4) injectors and if they all blink you have either shorted injectors or plugged which is unusual for all 4 to be plugged.
But if you do not have a Blink you have to see if the computer is receiving the singals telling it that the engine is cranking over, and if the signal TO the injectors from the computer is available if so then you could have a wiring harness problem but again its so rare that all four injector wires and only the injector wires are bad don't you agee?
Please call me and I can explain this in more detail or contact me at fixincars@yahoo.com

Thanks Randy I believe its not tht big of a probles as everyone makes it out to be

SOURCE: Car wont start, no clicks no sound

make sure you have power getting to your starter when you crank. check the small nut on the starter. should have 12 v or very close to it. this will tell you if your getting power to the starter or if somethign before the starter and something maybe with your anti theft system or not. its hard to say online cause of that anti theft. doest the light flash at all? the anti theft light?

if your getting power to the starter when you crank make sure your getting good power to the starter by turning on the head lights and see if they dim. a good starter will cause the headlites to dim when attempting to start. if nothing dims check connections. or assume bad starter motor. make sure your also getting power to the main starter stud as well.

good luck

In 1991 Tercel DLC is probably under the hood. Try to locate little gray (or black) box that has diagnostic written in the cover. Might be located near battery in 91 tercel.

Hello Seth.
If the temperature you are running until your next oil change is due will be below 50F average they recommend 5w30.
Otherwise 10w 30 is the choice.

1999 Tercel. Timing belt/water pump interval change?

Hello tinaromano1: The factory specification are to replace the belt every 90,000 miles in severe service. I would recommend to replace at 90,000 no matter what the service would be. Keep in mind should the belt break there is always a chance engine damage may occur. Should you need further help just ask. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

Heat in my 94 Toyota Tercel has a problem and so does the ignition.

warm your car up to temperture. Grab the upper rediator hose. Is it warm or cool. If its cool your thermosat is stuck closed and thats why you have no heat. If that works fine I would look at your heater core next.

'91-'94 Tercels have the Single overhead cam 3EE Motor.
'95-'99 Tercels have the dual overhead cam 5E-FE Motor. A much improved engine in my humble opinion.
