Question about 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Changed out battery in truck (Truck was running fine before) tried to start and would not idle on its own. Removed throttle body and cleaned like new .Replaced and would idle but run bad, hardly any power and just kinda rough.Checked for any vacuum leaks and did not hear any so sprayed with cleaner and didn't find any.Ran a little thinking maybe need to relearn.Everyone else just cleaned and was good.Notice a lot of heat underneath and exhaust was red behind converter through muffler so figured fuel problem so changed filter and did a little better but not much.Still causing code but will sometimes go away and come back and go away and come back.Any ideas?
Depending on the miles on it, Usually a missfire has to do with a bad spark plug or spark plug wires, If they never been changed, If it has verry high mileledge on it end was not maintained well, There could be low compression in a cylinder, That can cause it to run rough, Hope this helps you out,

you have a single injector under the intake plenum it has 6 branching fuel leads off of this.A very common problem is the regulator attached to this and it leak off fuel which falls into the intake .causing this problem. it needs to be replaced .i have done at least 80 of these in my career.this will fix your problem.thanks for choosing fix ya

Please go to the crossfire injection forum to get some straight answers to the 82 corvette CFI system and how to troubleshoot it properly. There's a lot of misinformation given here, so much so, I don't know where to begin.
One thing is, the 82 corvette CFI does NOT have a MassAir Flow sensor system, it uses MAP and O2 mostly. The CTS sends a signal to the ECM telling it what the temp of the motor is and in turn the ECM controls the amount of fuel being dumped. On the older (orignal) CTS sensors, they have one wire and takes its ground from the threads. If any coorosion takes place, usually the CTS will report a cold engine and request lots of fuel.
To repair this issue, install one of the newer style CTS sensors that have two wires, one for signal and the other is ground.
Fuel pressure and vacuum leaks on any CFI motor play key roles. Set the FP to 14-15psi measured inbetween the TBs. The regulator is located on the rear TB and must be slightly moded to make it adjustable and can be done in a few minutes.

1- check there is spark come from spark wires
2- check the fire timing by looking for every wire in the right place
3- check there is injector signl
4- check for any vacuom leak
5- try to clean the MAF by brake and parts cleaner
6- try to reset all the code and see what will come after that

IF YOU GOT CYLINDER MISFIRE.OR OPEN FUEL INJECTOR.THAT WILL CAUSE THE PCM TO ENRICHEN FUEL MIXTURE.TO ADJUST TO DEAD CYLINDER.WHICH ACT AS A LARGE VACUUM LEAK.THATS WHY YOUR EXHAUST TAIL PIPES HAS A RAW FUEL SMELL AND WHITE SMOKES.

Oil on spark plugs and car misfires?
And for .......
not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can
be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it
can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or
no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition
coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.
