I just purchased a performance tekniqueICBM-9864 & installed it in my ford explorer 96',everything works fine but the radio fm works but its like distorting.can you tell me what it could be? Thank you.

sounds like a wiring issue. I'd start by checking the wires around the radio and see if they are chaffed or broken.

ur old radio had a wire that went to speedo which is designed to raise to volume as u go faster recheck ur wiring may have grounded the wire

I am trying to install a ford factory CD/cassette radio ford part number XL2F-18C868-BB in my 1996 Explorer XL. Everything plugs in fine but there is no sound. I've checked the wire harness and everything...

There is a separate plug for the speakers, if you are replacing a non factory radio then maybe these speaker cables were re-routed to an amp. or something?

It's a 95 ford explorer and we bought a wiring harness for the new radio, the old radio worked fine and everything. We hooked up the new radio to the wiring harness and it powered on and everything, b

try hooking the radio power wires to the battery! To '' TEST'' twist red and yellow put on the poss. blk. on neg. ! take a speaker and test speaker wire out put! if don't work output is blown out! but will still work with rca jacks hook to small amp ! this to pull sound out of your radio for sure!!

I just purchased a 1999 Explorer. I am looking for the code to change the keyless entry for the doors. It says in the book that it is taped to the computer module. Where is it? Also, the display on the...

Keyless entry code can be found in the rear of the vehicle...driver side tire jack compartment...look on the computer module inside the compartment & it should be on a sticker there.

Radio display is controlled by the dimmer switch -(the round mousewheel looking thing by the steering column) fiddle with that & see if that brings the display back.

No sound from the speakers in my 1998 Ford

You may have a factory amplifier in the rear of the explorer in the right cargo panel. You need to supply power to it by connecting the amp power on (Blue/White I think) in the dash to a power source (such as red on your stereo harness) so it comes on with the key. That's why you have no sound.

I changed my radio but still no sound still comes out my speakers

I'm assuming the radio turns on. If the antenna is no good AM radio will not work at all and FM can be iffy. Unless all your speakers are bad or you have a wiring/adaptor issue.
are you replacing radio with same type/brand?
