They have been on all vehicles for over 30 years
Take car to a repair shop
They will check for codes & tell you the fault present,

2001 dodge stratus charging problem. not alternator or battery and car jerks when driving

You need to get the DTC connector back to
the way it was designed & then resolve any code
related issues & continue on

Do you not have a good repair shop to go to

Very few people coming here work on a car
If you have to ask- usually that is the case

Jerking at acceleration and braking! no engine lights what could it be.

Leave the car at some shop or dealer, don't use it like that

If a shop doesn't seem to find things, there usually are
several reasons why

Try another more capable shop & spend some time
there,so you both understand the time to be applied
to diagnosing, your costs & the shop has to welcome
you into the service bay & prove they have the technology,
tools & personel to work on your car problems

I have a 2003 ford focus 5 speed, recently while driving at about 50mph i could feel the car hesitate like it was wanting to cut off fast foward a few weeks and its hesitateing jerking and not picking up...

I would assume that whom ever you went to,
didn't even test drive the car.

You never leave a vehicle at a shop, that you
do not go for a test drive, with you driving, you can switch
on the way back to the shop

There a too many possible things to check & test to
write a book on here

The TPS Sensor
The Egr Valve
Ignition Misfires
Fuel Pressure Issues

That is just a few common things

You know there is a problem
You also know that being told they could not find
anything is unacceptable

It is especially hard the last 20 years, and very difficult to find
a repair shop & even a dealer sometimes, that is
knowledgeable enough or willing to spend time
to help you

Takes too long

Costs you too much

The shop looses money,as the
quick jobs keep the money coming
in ,so they stay in business, barely

Hi ihave a 2003 mazda 6 s v6 that i bought just over a month aqo. my check engine light came on i had it tested they told me it could be spark plugs or coil packs that i needed . so i got need bosch spark...

First I would find a garage that doesn't charge for diagnostics. I don't unless it is an electrical issue, which I usually fix when I find it. Second you have to get the coolant leak taken care of. This could be the entire problem. If you have overheated your car, it could have blown an intake manifold gasket or a head gasket letting coolant into the cylinders. This would pop 02 and misfire codes. This would also account for the jerking and hard starts. Also just a note get rid of the bosch plugs. Worthless. Go with what the manufacturer recommends. they may cost more but well worth it.

I have a ford escape 2002 i was driving on my way to work it started jerking and then stopped i have to tow it to my house cos the car service was already closed by that time. So later when i took it to...

Your ignition coil misfires, most likely ruined the converter
before they reached 12 to 14 years of age

You need all ignition issues resolved, coil issues resolved,
new converters,new O2 Sensors etc

You have no choice & can expect to pay over a $1000

Unless you have the vehicle scoped a couple times a year
& data looked at, your going to keep getting into what your
have now. You just drive until it breaks down, That is what
everyone does & it won't work on todays technology.

Your intake manifold has to come of just to do spark plugs
& coils on that motor, which is a MAZDA
