SOURCE: i have antifreeze leaking from the back radiator

There is a hose on the upper rear of the engine block.I think its a heater hose. Anyhow, its has a "Y" shaped plastic adapter that is known to leak on sorentos. Buy the part and pay a shop to change it. I spent 2 hours tring to get to itwith no luck. I took it to a shop and it took them 5 hours and 3 technicians to change it out. Good luck.

SOURCE: Unable to locate radiator drain

It is on the side of the bottom of the radiator, but I found it easier to just remove the lower radiator hose and let it just drain faster that way. Keep a large container nearby to catch the coolant.

2003 kia sorento leaking antifreeze after new radiator

You will want to taste the leak (or get someone else to do so) and make sure it is not water.
Antifreeze has a very sweet taste.
You should only need one drop, and be sure to rinse your mouth out really well afterwards.
Whenever a radiator is replaced, the hoses attached to it can also begin to leak, because the rubber hardens with age, and can be harder to seal again.
I prefer a stainless steel band clamp, not the original equipment.
A good flashlight would be a help as you look for the problem.
Be sure to check the heater hoses, and the other hoses that carry coolant, as any of them could be leaking, due to "being disturbed" or due to the possible higher pressure the new radiator is giving the cooling system.
Be blessed.

2005 kia radiator fan wont come on

Usually one is a primary and the other is a secondary fan.
One runs anytime the computer needs air pulled thru the radiator or condenser, the other is used when the first fan is not getting the job done.
I doubt you can diagnose the problem without a scanner to "see" the computer command the fans on.

Radiator installation on 2003 Kia Sorento

That is a VERY easy radiator.
Loosen radiator drain plug and drain coolant from radiator.
Disconnect cooling fan connectorsRemove upper and lower radiator hoses after marking them to ease installation.
For vehicles equipped with automatic transaxles, disconnect transmission cooler lines at transaxle.
Remove air conditioner condenser fixing bolts and radiator bracket fixing nuts.
Remove the radiator, radiator cooling fan, air conditioning cooling fan and transmission cooler lines from the vehicle as an assembly.
Transfer all necessary parts (fan assemblies, cooler lines, clips, speed nuts, fittings, etc.) to the new radiator.

Reverse procedure to install.

Fill and bleed cooling system.

Hi I have Kia sorento 2003 and my trouble is idle go up to 3000rpm to shift from 1 to 2 and the idel some time no stable go at round 200to 500 rpm with OBD 2 code P1330. your help will be appreciated...

Dear Allamid,

Seems to me like you need angine diagnostics performed. Your idle speed is way to high here. Mapping the engine should pinpoint and solve the problem. This is typic\lly done by nothing more than plugging a laptop into the onboard computer that governs the engine.

By the sounds of the OBD code that you have, you already knew thisabove procedure.Even so, have the Engine management unit checked, and get someone to check thermostat, engine timing, and might be worth having a full service done.

If you still dont get anywhere with this, get in touch with me andI will investigate the matter thoroughly for you,but in the meantime I do hope that this actually does resolve your issue.

yours sincerely

2003 kia sorentos engine cooling fan wont come on

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Check your fan fuses first. They might have blown. If that don't help, you probably have a bad wire or bad fan. You can test the wires with a voltage meter to determine which it is. For now, you can hook a wire to the fan straight to the battery if the fan is not defective. This will allow your fans to work while the wire is on the battery.

How do I replace the radiator in my 2004 kia

I don't currently have access to step by step instructions for your Kia Sorento, but I would imagine that it takes a standard tool ratcheting tool set to unscrew the bolts for the shroud, and lift any fans out of the way. Then, the radiator hold down hardware can be removed and the radiator should be disconnected fromt he cooling system (via the hoses) and then you can pull it out. It does not weigh much.

Installation is the reverse of the removal.

I need instructions on how to remove a radiator from 2004 Kia Sorento.

On the radiator almost always carry a plastic cover and then has a metal piece that connects the fenders, Supeior disconnect the hose and lower radiator hoses or disconnect tubes that connect the transmission with radaiador, check if the radiator has screws hold it down but most have only the top 2 screws, remove the fan and take out the radiator with fans outside can change them. is the common procedure to change the radiador. Thanks and good luck
