SOURCE: license plate light replacement

The license plate lights are in the ledge above the license plate. 2 screws keep the lens cover in place. Remove the screws, and the cover comes off. Just pull the lamp out (wedge base) and replace.

No ac no heat no power to the to or maybe from the dash control panel

There are 6 bolts that hold the rear trunk panel on the trunk itself: 4 behind the license plate on the outside of the trunk and two inside the trunk panel trim.
1. Remove the license place from the DeVille rear trunk panel.
2. Remove the 4 bolts located below the license plate.
3. Remove the trunk panel (felt) trim inside the trunk.
4. There is a small bolt on each side of inside trunk panel (4mm I believe). Remove them. Each will have a rubber washer on them so you'll know you are removing the correct bolt.
5. From the outside of the trunk, lift out the rear trunk panel. The license plate light (and reverse lights) are removed by turning the light assemblies counter clockwise.

Have to tap on license plate inorder for the license plate light to come on,how do icheck for loose wiring

Your first easy repair, will be to remove the bulb, then lightly spray PB Blaster into the socket that holds the bulb. Wipe off all excess liquid on outside of socket...the PB Blaster is excellent in cleaning and maintaining electrical connections...I would consider replacing the bulb with a new one...also use bulb/grease when reinstalling the new bulb...this should work...if not, then you need to totally replace the bulb socket...the replacement is available at your GM Dealer, or save money at a local salvage yard...some let you find and remove the part you need...usually just 2-3 wires that will need re-connected...if you find a used one, inspect for rust, and be sure to leave extra length on each wire when you cut them off...Hope this helps.

Replace license plate lights

Hi there,

Firstly, remove the four screws on the bottom of the license plate light assembly using a Phillips screwdriver. Then pull the license plate light cover out away from the rear of the car. Pull the bulb forward and pull it straight out of the wiring socket.

A press the new bulb into place until it is secure. Push the bulb and wiring assembly back up inside the light assembly and replace the license plate light cover. Replace the four screws that secure the light cover and tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver. Finally, turn on the lights to test the new bulb.

Hope this helps...

My tail light is out over the license plate on my 1993 buick park avenue. How do I get to it to change it?

There will be 6-10 retainers (sometimes they are 10mm nuts and sometimes they are plastic speed nuts) holding the whole lens assembly to the trunk lid. Once those are removed you will be able to remove the lens assembly and access the bulb. There are six bulbs all together, two for the license place and four tail lights (not including the reverse lights) and they are part number 194. I usually recommend replacing all six while you have the lens removed from the trunk.

How to change the brake light on a 2007 chevy tahoe the rear one

Open the rear hatch and locate the area behind the light you wish to change. You will see two screws that hold the assembly in place. Remove those two screws and push the pins through and the whole assembly will pop out allowing you to access the bulb by twisting the connection and pulling it out. Installation is the reverse. Good luck.
